Here's my dilemma...
I'm going to Ghana in a month (33 days). Before I leave, I have:
- 2 research papers due (about 3 days work each)
- 3/5 of a Calculus course (3 assignments) and a Calc exam to write.
- A thesis outline to prepare (2 days work, plus misc. readings to do)
-an exam to write that I have studied for, but missed last week because of being sick
I've also paid for a plane ticket to work in Philly for 10 days during this time.
To complicate matters, I had a pretty bad staph infection last week, and am still on treatment and daily doctor visits. I also have this big gaping wound on my thigh that I don't think can be covered by a standard band-aid. It's not even closed yet, still weeping stuff.
I'm set to leave on Thursday the 22nd...and I'm thinking I should really cancel the trip. But I've worked so little lately, as I had to call off my last booking because of the staph, so I have like no money unless I liquify some stock, and I'm behind on my savings schedule.
On the other hand, the Calculus is particularly difficult for me (like, really really), and if I don't get a good grade my scholarship will be jeopardized.
But, what's I'd make in Philly is half my scholarship amount, so maybe it wouldn't be that big of a deal? It would affect my grad school choices too though...
So, logic tells me to call off the trip and take the loss. The stripper and overachiever in me tells me to tackle the challenge and do it all. I'm not sure what the best choice is! I know you guys can't decide for me, but perspective would help.
Thanks!
