    Default Sony Vegas... anyone?

I've just started using Sony Vegas and it's my first attempt at video editing... I've worked out how to watermark and take screencaps and stuff, but I'm having a really strange problem that I can't figure out. Does anyone here use Vegas, who might be able to help me? If anyone thinks they can help, I'll type out the problem I'm having later on.

    Thanks guys

Sorry! No Vegas experience here. If it was AVID I could help you out though...

Kinda off topic and I apologise in advance -- Does anyone use Adobe Premiere for video editing? I self taught myself how to use it a few years ago and found it rather easy to use. Just curious.

Couldn't help with your problem sorry.

    Okay, so...

I'm trying to watermark a webcam video. So I make a text layer, put it over the video, and it all seems to work. But then when I render the video, the resulting .wmv just immediately cuts to the last frame of the video and that's all it is. A 6 min video of the last frame. The audio still works as it should, but the video is just the last frame frozen there.

Also, when I'm trying to take screencaps of the video and I move the line thing (sorry, I don't know the lingo) up and down the timeline to the part that I want to screencap, sometimes the pic in the preview window appears correctly, other times the last frame just pops up again, and other times it appears as the current frame I'm on faded in with the last frame.

I'm using a pirated version of Vegas, so is this a bug, or am I just doing something wrong?

Ah, I got it sorted. I was trying to edit .wmv files, I needed to convert them to .avi's for editing. Now it's all good!

You got it! Also, keep in mind, vegas talks to home so you may find your software rendered useless if a lot of people use your generated key.

GCG. Premier is a great tool, or was, it doesn't live up to it's adobe counterparts however now that photoshop is building in aspects of it since they've acquired Flash, you'll see them put more time into it and hopefully it'll take the edge again.

I like it when one software company provides an all range solution.
