Default Aussie gal belatedly introducing herself

Well I've been on the site for a while now and it's about time I came out properly!

I'm a Sydney girl and I've been toying with the idea of dancing professionally since my very first pole class. I work freelance in the film industry and dancing seems like a good way to make some extra cash when I'm between jobs. Of course so far what's been stopping me taking the plunge is the old fear of being recognised at the club by a future employer/workmate! Wigs can do wonders however, or so I've been told...

I'm on something of a precipice at the moment in that I have a month off before my next contract so if I'm going to try out dancing it will happen in the next few weeks or not at all. I've had enough dance training that I'm not nervous about the performance side, I know the hardest part will be learning the "sell" and overcoming my shyness.

Anyway I was delighted to find SW as it's not only a great resource for a wannabe dancer it's so full of fantastic (and hot) ladies it's been hours of fun reading and posting with y'all as well.

Thanks so much ladies, looking forward to more and more!

Tanks Morrigan, I will be getting my arse in gear and using a proper icon of me soon (though it will be hard to part with Abby as she is sex on legs in big chunky boots).

But first - wig shopping! Yarrrr.....

G'day Aussie, hey while I've got you - is Sydney still in a dancing slump in your opinion? (-:

Hey I was in Brissie recently and was having lunch at this cafe and when I looked up at the wall guess who's photo I saw? Morrigan you're famous!! 3 gorgeous burlesque style shots of you in this old-style corset were on the wall. Yummy.

Great shots, my gf who was eating with me and I both agreed yours were the best of a very good bunch.

Well Ive been going to Melbourne instead of Sydney to work now. Sydney was still terrible last time I worked there which is why I swapped cities but its hard for me to say currently. Im thinking of calling in soon just for a few days as a girl I ran into over the grand prix period in Melbourne said she'd just gone back to Sydney and had had an ok week.

Well that's vaguely promising. I guess I wont know til I try it out proper. I'm thinking of trying to do days to start which I imagine will be slower as a matter of course. Thanks for the info!

    Hi Sinia.
Like you I was taking (and still am) pole dancing lessons which is what prompted me to start dancing. Although I had always thought of dancing even before pole dancing.

I have been dancing now for about 5 months and I still take pole dancing classes and will be starting to teach pole dancing soon.

    Hi Jaizaine,

Hope the Grand Prix treated you well! It's true doing the classes have given me the confidence to properly attempt this, though it's been something I've always thought about. The classes also gave me a good reason to attend some clubs, and I was always ogling and admiring the dancers and wanting to be UP THERE! Talk about tapping into my exhibitionist side.

Congrats on the teaching job - that sounds excellent! I've only done one class in Melbourne, it was at Pole Divas and they were great - fantastic studio too with reeeeally tall poles!

Thanks Flickad! I totally had to look up "Antipodean" just then. And I thought I had a pretty decent vocab...
