Default engaging stomach muscles on stage

    Hi,

I've noticed that since I've started dancing my arms and legs are getting firm from various dance moves I do on stage. I don't even have to do any muscle work at the gym anymore. However, my stomach isn't getting that hard. Does anyone know any stage moves that work the abs?

    Thanks,
    Parker

Certain lap dance moves can really work your core, also. Be creative

Your abs are not hard, or they're not showing? There's a difference.

Try leaning back a bit on the pole. It takes core strength to do that and not have your feet slip out from under you. That'll work em and show em Also if someone's tipping you, get on your knees with your back to the edge of the stage and "fake" lean against the custy. I did this when I didn't really want to be pressed up against him/her and it really burned my abs.

There are some pilates move which I have turned into stage moves and work my stomach.

Also doing any floor work that requires you to lean backwards (your ass/back to the customer then lean back as such) also engages your stomach.

Doing undulations also helps or so I have found.

use the pole! grab it and invert yourself, legs up over head (grab it with your ankles or whatever, may require a bit of practice) that is all abs.

I know you personally, and it is safe to say that u, I and all of our friends drink and eat too much and that is why your and my ab muscles are not defined. LOL, love you girl!!

I agree--the most impressive pole workers I've seen have been able to suspend and bend themselves using only their abs on the pole.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

Definitely pole work. Every pole trick requires considerable use of the ab muscles. My abs are rock hard to the touch from pole work.

Hell, tighten all the time. Every time you move, on stage or during a dance, tighten your muscles, abs or others, you'll get a workout, trust me. It's the muscle control during a good workout that gives you the toning. That's why instructors always tell you that if you're not doing it right it's not worth doing.
