Default Cooking for a boy! HELP!

So, as I posted over in ladies only, my sex drought is over...and the boy is coming over Thursday night to hang out, dinner, assuming sex.

I'd like to be cute and make dinner for him..but the catch is it has to be easy, as I'm a ditz, be done in a basic kitchen (college apartment), and hopefully something other than pasta (I've made the standard spaghetti and tortellini's for him before)

    Suggestions? (with recipes preferable)

    I like this one! lol

Maybe something like a pork tendorloin, already seasoned from the store, and homemade mashed potatoes.

Chicken's the easiest thing in the world. My ex-husband used to go batshit for honey-mustard chicken... serve it over brown rice with a side of steamed broccoli or carrots, and maybe a salad, and you've got dinner on. Oh, and don't forget the white wine.

Preheat the oven to 350 F (170 C). Pour 1/2 cup honey into a small bowl and microwave it for 5 seconds (this will thin it and make it easier to mix). Add 1/2 cup spicy brown mustard, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and a dash of chili powder (optional). Mix it well. Arrange 4-6 chicken thighs BONE SIDE UP in a casserole dish. Pour HALF the sauce mixture over the chicken and bake for 30 minutes. Take it out, turn the chicken over, and pour the rest of the sauce over it. Bake it another 15 minutes or until the chicken juices run clear when you stab it. To serve, put a chicken thigh atop a pile of rice; mix the pan juices into the sauce and spoon it over the chicken and rice.

I've made this for three men plus my family and they LOVE this. It's easy as hell, too, but it tastes like you spent forever on it!

Whatever you cook. Do it in a camo apron, and nothing else.

You could make cream of dog shit and it will taste fantastic to him.

    1 box Zatarain's Jambalaya mix
    1 Kielbasa sausage

Prepare Jambalaya mix as directed on box (iow, add water.) Add diced Kielbasa to pot. Cook as directed (slow boil for 20 minutes)

It is sooooooooooooo good and easy! Pairs well with bagged salad and some kind of bread.

    It's in the rice aisle.

    Shrimp scampi!

Pound of 16/18 shrimp, peeled and deveined (you can buy them like this at the store)

    Half stick of butter
    Two spoonfuls of garlic
    1/3 cup white wine

    Dash of garlic salt
    Dash of kosher salt
    Dash of thyme
    Dash of pepper
(Just a light dusting of each of these)

Melt butter, garlic, wine. Toss in shrimp. Put spices on. Cook until solid white/pink, about 8 minutes. Serve!

Another variation is to make penne pasta, cook it when you start the shrimp, then drain and add into the butter and sautee with the shrimp for another 4-5 minutes.

The whole recipe is super-easy and only takes 10-15 minutes.

OK this one is VERY easy, no seasoning required, looks very pretty, and is very tasty! My bf loves it and I made it for my roomie recently and she took her leftovers to our other job and shared- I had tons of people demanding the recipe lol

    FETA CHICKEN.

    You'll need:
    Boneless skinless breasts
Tomato n Basil Feta cheese, 1 package block or 2 crumbled
    Italian style bread crumbs
    REAL butter

To prepare (you can do up to #5 in advance):
    1. Grease a baking pan with the butter
    2. Coat the chicken breasts thoroughly with the bread crumbs and arrange in pan
    3. Put as much Feta Cheese crumbles on top of each breast as you can fit
    4. Put a few pats of butter on top of each breast
    5. Bake at 350 in middle/lower rack until thickest parts of breast are cooked through

Delicious/easy sides for this are Rice-a-Roni Wild Rice (at least 2 boxes), and a baby spinach salad with mandarin oranges, dress with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Or for a more substantial/colorful salad- baby spinach and fresh basil leaves with cherry tomato slices and VERY fine white onion slices, and snippets of mozerrella, same dressing.

Go to Boston Market. Buy a rotisserie chicken. Buy a tub of their mashed potatoes. Buy some rolls. Gte some kind of side dish.

Take it all home, put in your own serving dishes. Add a pat of butter on top the mashed potatoes so it looks like you made it. Light candles, a pretty table cloth, serve him naked.

Boys love chicken wings! Just get some frozen ones & throw bbq sauce on them. When they still have about 20 min to go in the oven, take them out & poke them like crazy with a couple forks (this keeps the chicken from drying out).

Glad it worked out for ya! :]

P.S. There's also a more advanced version, where you pound the chicken to uniform thickness and then pile Feta on just half the breast, then fold the rest over and pile the remaining Feta on top. The upside to this is that pounding the chicken makes it more tender, and it's easier to tell when they're done because the folded chicken pops up a bit. The downside is that pounding the breasts is a pain and messy, and the servings look smaller than if you just leave em flat. Either way tho, delicious.

I've found that basically anything that involves a grill makes the boys happy. Steaks, crab legs, kabob's...
