    Default Tipping manager/dj question

Im back at work and was wondering what I should be tipping the manager exactly. My friend always gives a nice $40-$60. I never ask for any favors from him or to watch out for me, nothin, so what should I tip? I gave a $20 the other day and got a raised eye brow.

Like 5% or so. People who dont tip their support staff shouldnt be in this business.

I tip the DJ, Bartender, Valet. Doorgirl etc. If you dont then they shouldnt do anything to help you make money.

I can understand tipping the DJ and Bartender well, however I think $20 is more than enough unless he specifically goes out of his way to help you make money.

It really depends on what he does for you, and how much money you make. I would always tip the dj 20 dollars, but I work in Las Vegas. If I worked in my home town I would tip 10. I would agree with Amy that you should tip 5% of what you make, but if that's less than 20 dollars, tip 20.

I would ask around to see what the norm is in your club. most clubs I've worked at you werent required to tip the managerr at all. Some places tip outs were dj only, seom were dj and manager, some were every damn person that worked there. Amounts varied to fromset tip outs to percentages.

Find out what the norm is in your club and you'll know better how much is expected.
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

what are you tipping the manager for exactly? in every club i've worked in, tipping hosts, djs, bouncers and housemoms is norm but not the manager. the manager usually doesnt do anything. (in my experience)

    Love it!

Wow, tip everyone? At my club we're *forbidden* from tipping anyone but the DJ and housemom. As for that, club minimum is $5 each, and another girl told me she tips $10 each if she makes less than 500, $20 each if she makes over 500. She was a nightshift girl though, during the day with less girls I feel obliged to tip more. In any case, I should prolly get s'more opinions and tip more consistantly since I'm trying to get a locker lol

I mean what does the manager do for me? Nothing so I dont really feel like I should tip but I still need a locker too lol. I dont mean to be cheap but some days when its slow those $20s add up. Especially since I have to pay my sitter now.

I only tip the bartender if I buy a drink from him/her, otherwise I tip the DJ, Housemom, Bouncers, Valet and Funny Money girl if I cash in some. Our club has a minimum amount and then if I have a good night I'll tip more, there's been a few occasions where I barely made anything, if I don't make at least $100, I won't tip anyone anything. Since I always take care of them if I have a bad night they're not going to say anything, if they did then it would be the minimum even on good nights.
