Default There were HOW many calories in that?

So, I'm not a really big diet person. I've been eating out more lately and I can tell from my jeans that I am gaining some weight ...... On a whim, I looked up the calories in the sub I ate today... HOLY SHIT! I had NO idea, and I had some of my boyfriend's fries too!! From now on, if I eat out, I am going to make sure that I am aware of what is in my food!!

    Cousin's Subs.......

    Nutritional Information

7½" Italian Special Sub: 817 calories and 26 grams of fat

What the fuck??? I figured it had 500 calories, tops....!!!

Yup, whenever it's fast food it has grease, etc. Things you don't notice or take account for. Sucks huh.

Well, you can get healthy subs and salads if you're eating at Subway. They usually have nutritional information on serviettes and stuck to the counter.

Cheese and dressings will bump up calorie counts, so order accordingly.

Beware of fast food salads! They are not always the safe and healthy choice they seem to be.

I know!! Whenever I go out to eat now, unless it's a special occassion or I really really want something naughty, I'm getting stuff I KNOW the calorie counts in, like egg beaters or grilled chicken ceasar salads with no crutons and fat free dressing. LOL. I think I've been eating like 2000 calories a day lately in hindsight, and at my height and weight, I should only havelike 1500.

Restaurants are even worse. My sister and I used to treat ourselves by going to Olive Garden and having the portobello ravioli, a Coke, salad and splitting the tiramisu.

Well, the ravioli alone has over 1000 calories.

And Macaroni Grill! The Carmela's chicken rigatoni is 1100 calories. Their chocolate cake is 1700 calories! 1700!! You could easily top 3000 calories for a single meal there. That's crazy.

Ha, me and my sister treat our self to Red Lobster like 1x per month. I always order the Ultimate Feast (scampi, fried shrimp, crab legs, baked potatoe w/ sour cream an butter, and lobster tail) Then I get a caesar salad..extra dressing. Oh, and I just LOVEEEEEE cheddar bay biscuits. I don't even wanna know how many calories are in all that

Don't worry, at least it wasn't a big mac or something! Could totally be worse!

Oh yeah, don't eat Chinese - did you see that expose on how many calories are in general Tso's chicken?! Jezuz! Like, 1150 calories for ONE serving. I love that stuff *sniffle*

I used to eat Chinese all the time. Sesame chicken...yum...

Then I started researching what I was eating, and haven't eaten it since.

yeah, scary how calories seem to add up in everything that tastes good. I recall being surprised when I was on weight watchers that if I had a daiquiri it could use up all my points for the day and even go over that amount.

Yea, I found out that a personal sized pizza from Uno Chicago Grill will run you about 2,000 calories. Is that not insane?! Might as well go have an ultimate cheeseburger at jack in the box, sheesh. I wish restaurants would be required to provide nutritional info right on the menus.
