    Who is Out There

This is a list of "out there" experiences. Probably rare events, though some would say imaginary. But out there, nontheless. For example I've talked with two people who swear they clearly saw flying saucers. But there seems always to be an interest in these abnormal experiences. (Maybe I've missed a few topics since my life is a bit boring I suppose.)

This is a MULTIPLE answer type poll.

Note that people can be intuitive - that is, visualizing/knowing something that they were not conscious of their knowledge of. (Probably we just auto-processed info we were not aware that we knew then.) People can also have dreams; but this likely is part of the mind talking to itself, it is not other 'people' directly interacting with us,nor is it necessarily just imagination. What I'm asking about here are things that happen to us consciously. So please exclude intuitions and dreams.

What's the difference between a dead person and a ghost? You mean like the actual body of the person?

What if you have encountered a few of the choices on the list? The poll wouldn't really work as you can only select one option.

    Whoa for real?!

I've had premonition-ish dreams (runs in the family). I had a nightmare once about elephants being slaughtered at the circus while everyone watched, and told my mom the next day. As we were watching the news it came on that Barnum and Bailey was abusing their elephants. I also had a dream once that perfectly predicted my 7th grade math class, down to my classmates and what they were wearing. That dream happened a week before school started.

My grandma had a disturbing dream once when my mom was 14, about being at a funeral. The only thing she could remember clearly was that someone was shouting "We're missing a pallbearer! Where is the last one?" And then a couple months later her sister died and that happened at the funeral.

My mom has had a SHITLOAD of "gut feelings" during her life. The one that is most memorable from my actual lifetime was a few years ago when I was 16 and had just moved to mexico with my mom. Well, she had Hep C (completely under control though) and bad knees, but nothing so serious. However, one night she got tipsy while watching movies and I was falling asleep in my bed when she came in crying. She kept talking about how something was going to happen to her and how we should make plans now as regarding assets and where I would live. I was pissed at the time but then about 7 months later she almost dies from a brain infection (400 CC's of pus in her brain wtf) that we realize had been forming for quite a while. And the EVEN WEIRDER thing was that a week before she became unconscious and I got her to a hospital, she had been literally forcing me to call up people in my old neighborhood and my dad to try to arrange for me to get back up there.

Dunno if this counts, but I find it pretty eerie.

Oh and something that sounds pretty nooby and lame, but as a lovesick young girl I would always "make" the letter J out of my surroundings. I'd see it everywhere. It was like... my thing. Then as I started wanting a boyfriend I was sure that J would be my true love's name

Funny though, as my first serious (and current) boyfriend of 4 years is a Justin.

I almost died (that I know of) three times: I choked on a candy when I was four, and I had turned blue...my dad went to start the car to take me to the hospital, but a woman in the restaurant managed to heimlich me. I don't remember it, but it freaked my parents right out.

-My mom and I flipped our car into a ditch when I was twelve because a tractor trailer ran a stop sign and suddenly appeared on the road (the side road was disguised by a tree line)...we were going highway speed, so lucky my mom could take evasive action.

-And I got kicked in the face by a horse. I managed to duck JUST IN TIME and only got knicked under my eye, but if that bitch had been a centimetre closer, she'd have kicked in my skull.

Oh, and I've had dreams about things that come true the next day. Weird shit. Not so much now as when I was a teenager. I would also get psychic feelings- when I was a receptionist I'd sometimes know someone's phone number (a stranger) before they told me. REALLY WEIRD feeling. Or I'd guess what someone's name was before they introduced themselves. And I have a really good batting average when it comes to guessing people's astrological signs. Even if I barely know them.

I used to read Tarot and palms. I gave it up, but it freaked many people out. I dunno. I'm a weirdo I guess.

I put that I've had a real, tangible religious experience. It was the closest option available to my experience which is hard to translate, and not readily understood.

I've had the odd preminition too, though I wouldn't call myself pyschic.

I wouldn't call myself psychic either. Whenever I got those feelings, it was always unbidden. Something would just pop into my head like song lyrics. The phone number thing was the most obvious example- I'd type it out before they got to the third number. Then I'd realize I was right. It happened three times. Freaked me right out. Philosophy tells me there's an explanation somehow...

    Yes, exactly. (I guess.)
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

That's your intuitive nature. your brain 'fills in the blanks" with things you didn't know you knew. But you did anyway. I get that at times too.

As for this poll... I've seen ghosts AND talked with them. I am a medium... and I am an old pro at seeing corpses, unfortunately.

I have experienced prophetic dreams many times in my life. They are usually bad (or at least the ones I remember), and I'm never given enough information to use in any practical sense.

For instance (this is the worst) I dreamed I saw my boyfriend gun shot in the head and dead in his bedroom. 10 years later he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in his bedroom, right in front of his wife. I had witnesses to my prophetic dream (boyfriend and roommate) and one is still living to add validity to my claim. I woke up and could still see blood and gore splattered on the bedroom wall and began screaming and running through my apartment. Both my roommate and my boyfriend had no doubt in their minds that I had seen something awful in my dream.

I've had other dreams of a lesser degree of disaster that have come true. The dreams don't give me time frames of reference, and usually I can't tell if it is a prophetic dream or just a run of the mill nightmare. Smoking pot regularly seems to repress any dreams I may have, so I'll maintain that practice.

I have dreams that come true alot, but they're never happy things. Always nightmares, which sucks. It's been going on my whole life though, and my mom is the same way.

The weirdest thing I've ever had is funny, but at the time it scared me shitless. For stupid reasons I ended up taking too many pills when I was 20. I refused to go to the hospital, and made my friend stay at home with me to try and make sure I would be ok. I ended up getting really sick and Epicac (sp?) wasn't working fast enough, and I went under.

I have no recollection of anything that happened for the next 4 hours, because all I remember is talking to God. Yeah, God. We were sitting on a hill overlooking the interstate, and he was smoking cigarettes. He sat there and told me that even though I had problems, it wasn't time for me to go, and that I had to get my shit together. I could see, feel, and smell everything during that time, from the cigarettes, to the grass under my feet. It was really weird, because I've always been kinda iffy on the whole religion thing, but I listened to him and went back home.

Now I joke on occasion and say that God smokes cigarettes, and he chills next to the interstate.

I have seen something I believe to be a UFO.
I have had a strange encounter with a being I cant explain. It wasnt like a ghost but I dont know what it was or where it was from.
I have seen ghosts and felt and heard them.
I remember bits of a number of past lives - always have.
I have some psychic ability but not as much as I would like.

Oh Ive seen a dead body or two also.

This hasn't exactly been mentioned on this thread but I think it relates (if not, my bad for "hijacking" the thread!) BUT

Is "deja-vu" remembering things from past lives (if you believe in that sort of thing) or is it actually just information you've already learned in this life and somehow forgotten? (though not completely)

Several times I've been able to guess peoples names just by looking at them.

I've been able to look at photos of former crime scenes and been able to tell exactly where the body was found.

I can always sense when a place is haunted, and I've had a few encounters.

I've been able to predict future friendships and relationships for others. For example, I knew a guy in Chicago and a girl in Jersey City. Neither of them knew one another, but a gut feeling told me they'd one day meet face to face and hook up. Sure enough it did.

I'm 100% convinced I had an alien encounter after my 9th birthday party. There were two sets of pulsating lights which were moving closer and closer to the 2nd story living room window. They got about a foot away from the window, and I freaked out and ran! When I came back, they were gone. This window faced NO driveways, neighbors windows, streetlights, was nowhere near where any aircraft flew, etc. etc. So theres no conventional explanation for them. To this day I'm afraid of large windows and always keep shades drawn.
