Might be an infection or a very irritated cornea. Usually contacts won't scratch (depending on what material they're made out of) but they can inflame.
It does sound like an infection. I once had an infection like that in both my eyes, and my doc wouldn't even prescribe me new lenses untill it cleared up, because if it gets too bad it can affect your sight. I had to wear my thick ass glasses for two months straight... but I had an emergency pair of contacts that I'd slip in for parties or whatnot. I was like 16, so I thought I knew better than the doc. It would have healed much faster had I not been so weird about wearing my glasses to the parties on fri and sat nights.

Do you like being able to see at all?! If you want to even have eyes in the future stop abusing them.
I used to skip cleaning my lenses in my teenage years and a person who is blind in one eye told me that above piece of good advice when I mentioned it. Point taken!
If you want to wear contacts all the time GET DAILY WEAR CONTACTS!!!!!! Do not put damaged lenses in your eye. Wearing glasses is nothing compared to having permanent eye damage. What are you going to do if you damage your eyes so much you cant wear lenses at all?
Its true that you can extend the wear of short term contacts somewhat but they mean a day or two. 6 months is crazy! Also because of the stress youve put on your eyes already you really should give them a break as much as possible for a few weeks. Try to let air get at your eyes for a few waking hours a day. its important for oxygen to get to the eye surface. If you need to wear lenses put them in as close to the time you go out and take them out again as soon as you get home.
Do yourself a favor and either buy a pair of proper lenses to wear each day, or buy the daily ones which you can wear for a day and throw away. I have these and theyre great!
And get the problem checked out - it could be a scrathed cornea, it could be an infection, it could be something more serious. Its your eyes - dont take the risk of not getting the problem treated!

^^^ Lasik leaves alot to be desired for also, although of course alot of people are very happy with the results. Alot of people though have problems ranging from mild to severe and for some the result is only temporary. One of my friends had 5 years worth of good eyesight then it deteriorated again. Another had the surgery and it just didnt work so he still had to wear glasses.
Ill see if i can find a link, lol.
Agreed. As much as I'd love perfect vision without glasses/contacts (very bad eyes), the Lasik horror stories scare me.
i think u should stock up on at least a three month supply.... Im not sure of your health insurance situation or where u go to get them.. i know u can go to lenscrafters and its pretty reasonable there... your first time there u pay $100 for an exam... three month supplies for contacts are $52... its thats simple...

I have monthlies. I am totally going to take better care of my eyes and such. Taking them off at night has been a big thing for me.
