Hey does anyone know if there's any money to be made up there? I'm in Or, and PDX is just not financially worth dancing in.

What clubs have you tried here? I've heard that Seattle is a VERY high contact area, and I usually did very well when I was dancing here (PDX), quit last April.

I'd suggest trying other clubs here in Portland. I dance with girls all the time who have traveled down from Seattle. So I don't know if it's a "grass is always greener" thing, or if it is better in Oregon. I know I like our rules better. And you may want to post this in "Club Chat"...if it doesn't get moved...
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily
I've never heard anything good about Seattle, although there are two dancers here who seemed to make OK money at Deja Vu.

Feature costumes for sale!
With the large number of Seattle dancers traveling into Portland and going over to Montana, I'd say you are probably in the better location $$ wise.
We get Seattle dancers every weekend in Bend and Salem. That is a pretty good distance to travel on a regular basis. Those dancers claim there is no money and gobs of extras are expected. But this is third hand information. I've never club danced in Washington.
Just consider this: Customers must stay 4 feet away from the dancer when she is on stage (no stage tips). It is illegal to tip a dancer in cash (only funny money is acceptable). Dancers must remain fully clothed during lap dances. No liquor is served in any Washington state strip club. Dancers must acquire a city license to dance. It is in the neighborhood of $200 for a license. Dancers can be cited for prostitution in Washington for giving *any* contact during a dance (even if she is clothed). Even male strippers in Washington are not allowed to perform shirtless during lap dances.
If you are going to travel, I recommend Star's in Bend. There is money there, and it is almost golf season. Whoo-Hoo! I just worked there less than two weeks ago, and I made $750 in two shifts (Monday night and Tuesday day shift). I would have worked more, but I got the flu and went home. You do have to hustle, but it is fairly easy to sell in that club. I'd say I get a yes to every third customer asked for dances. BUT...you have to ask, they won't come to you.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
I danced in Seattle all last Fall. We could recieve tips on the stage in real bills- not funny money. I did fine there, but I hated it!! I had to be there for an internship, so I made the best of it. I was requiered to work 3 shifts. Most weeks I just paid my house for the 3rd shift and went home. There was so much drama, downtime, haters, extras, rightous strippers, dark ld areas, hands out, mean DJs, not to mention girls getting arrested. I saw them take 3 girls out in their bikinis and cuffs. Paper jumpsuits, vice squad. I would straight ask customer to see a business card and match it to their ID. If guys seemed suspicous girls just wouldn't talk to them. I would say, "some of the girls think you guys are cops, I want to spend sometime with you, but would you mind showing me your card and id."
There was NO WAY i was going out in cuffs and calling my bf from the station. The girls that were taken from my club sat in undercovers laps when asking for a dance. Yikes!!
There is money to be made in Seattle however.
I think Porland w/ regulars is the way to go in that area.
I want to add that the house fee at all decent places is 130 now, mandatory schedule. Tip out to the DJ is 20 or more, everyone else has their hand out too.

Shasta's account is pretty similar to mine, except I saw no one get arrested while I danced there. I heard of it happening regularly though, and worked with a few who openly admitted to having been arrested previously.
I worked at the Deja Vu downtown and it was ok money but you had to hustle HARD to get it. Always too many girls, usually more girls than customers. HARD contact expected in lapdances. Lots of girls bringing fifths of booze and getting drunk in the dressing room (the clubs are all juice bars in Seattle). There always seemed to be at least one crying in the dressing room because she hadn't made enough $ to pay for PARKING after the high fees. Every club charges HIGH fees to work. If you are used to dancing in Portland you will HATE the way money is made in Seattle.
If I were going to travel from Portland to work, I'd go further away. You can get cheap flights and rental cars, and cheap accommodations can be found in most cities.

So true. If you're used to Portland, almost anywhere else is a shock (that works both ways; I was shocked by Portland when I first arrived) and I've talked to plenty of dancers who traveled and just couldn't handle it elsewhere.
Why are you finding it hard to make money in Portland? I know lots of dancers there are making $100 a shift (or less!) but I think holiday and anomar and several others here can attest that there's far better earning potential than that in this town if you can put together the right package of a good stage show and salesmanship. I mean, I make more in other cities, but I don't think that Portland is a waste of my time (far from it) when I am dancing there.
I'm trying to run away from high contact!![]()
I'm so burned out of PDX and the poor pay/cheap guys, just like in Salem...![]()

um, it's portland. from what girls working there have said, airdances=bank.
if 'grinding' is high contact for you, stay the hell away from seattle. i'll put it this way. i quit dancing this past summer, and i didn't want to be tempted to return. so where did i go?
SEATTLE. expensive licencing, too many girls, never enough customers, insane stage fees, risk of being arrested for taking a tip in my hand or some nonsense, houston-level expectations for contact with no real options to offer lower contact-- the sum total was easily enough to keep me from temptation.
now if i'd moved to portland instead...well, i just have to say that if 'grinding' was the biggest extra i ever saw as a dancer, i might honestly still be dancing, regardless of my current life situation.
Gosh, were do you work?
Portland has so many clubs, that each club suffers all the time with low customer numbers. And grinding is completely common here. So if you don't have a $5,000/boob job, and grind, you are likely to barely make anything decent-even part of the time down here.

in seattle, housefees are roughly 150 per night and a lot of girls go home paying the club several nights running.
i quit dancing in clubs, not least because i danced in a city that had girls with boob jobs doing a lot more for their money than grinding.
from reading what girls on this site have posted, i only know that portland has lots of clubs, yes, and money is often like 100ish a shift because that is 'typical' stage-only money. but working in the clubs with more than 2-4 girls per shift seems to be how dancers on this site boosted their incomes to way more than that, and there are something like 5-10 of those clubs. that is a decent percentage of all clubs in portland. it just seems like you should try one of those larger clubs to make more money. seattle hasn't got more money, just more hassles and extras that would probably turn your hair white if grinding bothers you so totally.
Have you tried stars in beverton? I worked there for one night. It was Xmas eve, and pretty empty. I was on the floor for 4 hours and left with about 300. Only airdances fly there!!! You can touch the customers shoulders, arm, lower legs. I am an A cup, athletic build, brown hair. I smile a lot and have a good attitude when I am at work. I was just passinfg through on a road trip. They let me just drop in. So why don't you check it out; you can take the max there if you dont have a car. The girls there did really well. one word about that club, REGULARS.

Grinding is common in Portland? What clubs are you working at?!

Yes, as a service to the board, please do tell.

OK, so that's three clubs out of sixty: the Sandy Jug (now the Pirate's Cove), a jack shack, and one in another city. Really, there are still options available out there.
do they like half-asians up there in portland?![]()

Depends on which half.
*rimshot!*
They like everything. There's a huge Asian population there as there is everywhere on the West Coast.
