    Default red heads

ok so i've been doing my own survey(so to speak) and i couldn't help but notice that men really don't like red heads. it's almost like a fetish, like feet, or lil titties or something that needs its own magazine. i think red heads are beautiful and have gone red many a time and was considering it again. Jessica Rabbit was a red head, Ariel of little mermaid fame was a red head.. but you can count sexy redheads on one hand and man(porno) mags rarely ever show one. when i worked at a phone sex place the guys balked at any mention of a redhead, even if she had a perfect body and a great voice, and one of the girls had to change her name from "Ginger" because guys never wanted to talk to her cuz they thought she was a red head. Almost every guy i have ever dated or been close friends with has asked me not to go red because they didn't like redheads. I really don't care what people "like" when it comes to my own hair, but i thought this was so odd, and almost every girl i have talked to (including myself) loves red hair and thinks its pretty. i wonder why there is such a difference in opinion?( and its almost exclusively based on gender: guys =don't like, girls=do like) weird.

Hmmm I think men love redheads! They're fiery and fun and they have a stereotype of being wild in bed. What's not to like?

I know I love them, and I hear a lot of pro-redhead stuff from men. Between when I was a (bottled) redhead, or when I discuss my <3 for them, I VERY rarely hear any anti-redhead comments from the guys.

As for seeing them in mags and such.... there are so few redheads, if you compare them to blondes and brunettes, and then to find HOT ones... it narrows it down even more.

And it might also be (speaking for the bottled redheads) a factor that red stays in the hair way shorter (timespan-wise) than other colors. This can kill the hair faster if you have to dye and redye and redye.... and it's annoying. That's a big reason why I stopped going red.

Orchid are u a natural red head or u have just dyed your hair (I was a bit confused).

I think there is a lot of negativity surrounding red headed people in general. Red headed children often get picked on or left out by other children.

I went out with a red headed boy when I was in high school and I copped a lot from friends and other people about it. Everyone used to tease me about it and ask why I didn't find a better looking guy. But I liked him.

Then there are the expressions such as "blood nuts" or "fire nuts" and sayings such as "I'd rather be dead than red". So I definately think that Orchid is not imagining this dislike of red heads.

We have a redhead at my club tho and she is quite popular and very attractive.
I do think that going red might limit your market somewhat as there is that negativity towards red heads.

I've always seen men fawn over gorgeous red heads. Especially with that beautiful milky skin, freckles, the whole nine yards. They're gorgeous.

My boyfriend and I are sitting at the DMV the other day, and this little girl, about 5 walks past. She had the prettiest red hair, cute freckles, georgous little girl. I said so to my boyfriend. He said..wait till you see the older sister. About 5 minutes later, out walked older sis. 16 years old. Looked just like little sis. She was beautiful. Give her another couple years, she will be a knock out. I'd kill to be a natural red head.

I dye my hair dark red, and I've found so far that I've gotten more male attention than when I had other colors. Heck, I was hanging out with some guy friends a while back, and they were talking about going to a bar. Since I'm underage, we weren't sure I'd actually be able to get in the bar. But then my friend says, "Hey, you're a redhead, of course they'll let you in."

Agree. Dying your hair red and keeping it that way is a TOTAL pain in the ass.

I've found that everyone likes redheads. It makes you stand out more than being blonde or brunette. I'd say it's single-handedly gotten me more attention than any other feature (from the mainstream public).

I think redheads are GORGEOUS, but I too notice that men don't seem to appreciate redheads as much as women.. I've heard guys say "Redheads have too many freckles" or "they're too pale" etc etc.. Maybe that's why? I think pale skin is just as attractive as dark skin.. .

Thankfully, natural redheads like Lindsay Lohan have made redheads more popular today..

I think the only repeated negative comment I've really heard was "redheads are crazy" or "redheads are mean".... really hitting up the "angry Irish" stereotype. But I don't hear it THAT often.

As for the pale thing... I think that depends on where you are. My pale thing was GREAT for me and my $$ up north, not so much down here in Sunshine And Beach land.

I personally do not find most natural redheads (men or women) attractive. There have been a few that I have found unusually (unfairly, even!) attractive, but that's not the norm.

As far as men, from what I have observed, when they like redheads, they really are wildly attracted to them...more so than men who like blonds or brunettes.

I have (dyed) red hair and trust me, guys looooove it! Not a shift goes by where I'm not told how beautiful redheads are or how I stand out against the blondes and brunettes. In fact, there was a recent survey on playboy.com where readers were asked what they want to see more of in Playboy-and the one of the top 3 answers were REDHEADS!! So I don't know who you've been asking, but men definitely like redheads, at least in my experience.

I think men prefer a dark sexy red to a light orangy (more natural) red. My friend is a natural redhead and I had her color her hair to a deep red and it helped her make more money.

I love being a red head and I don't me burgundy. There seem to be a lot of assumptions that go with red hair.
A common stereotype of redheads is that they have fiery tempers. In Anne of Green Gables, a character says of the redheaded heroine that "her temper matches her hair", while in The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield remarks that "People with red hair are supposed to get mad very easily. Which is still a very common belief amoung men I encounter.
Another belief is that redheads are highly-sexed; Red hair was thought to be a mark of a beastly sexual desire and moral degeneration. Most guys think I am some kind of uber vixen in bed which in an industry that sells fantasy is to my advantage.
Abraham Van Helsing is depicted as having red hair and blue eyes, rather ironic as some cultures marked such people as those who would become vampires. More guys would find me a vampiress than a vampire but I only want their money not their blood he he he. In The Illuminatus! Trilogy, green-eyed redheads are said to be the favorite cohorts of The Devil.
I have milky white skin, dark blue eyes and flaming red hair that is just
touches my breasts. I have never been turned down for a dance due
to my hair color, I have been complimented in grocery stores, malls and
other various public places. When my picture was published in the paper
due to some yuppie thing I was at it started out about my beautiful red
hair. Blondes sorry to say this are a dime a dozen and if you can pull off
being a natural red head it can't look fake I say try it, buy a wig and
see what happens. I have a blonde wig for the days I feel like being a
blonde but have only worn it twice. I find men curious about me as soon
as they see me because most natural red heads aren't all that attractive,
not to toot my own horn or anything but red is my style. I am already
a strawberry blonde so it was really easy to go a darker shade of red.
Red fades fast so be ready to pamper your hair to keep the color.
But again I suggest a wig to see how guys react to you as a redhead
use an eyebrow pencil so your eyebrows match or you will look unatural.
    Best of Luck

Also there is a big diff between a natural redhead and a bottle red head - skin tone, freckles etc.

I have freckles all over but not a metric shit ton of them, I'm technically a bottle redhead but it doesn't fade I end
up with redish blonde roots which make it look like I'm balding LOL, so I have to color every 4 to 6 weeks to
to touch up my roots, If you dance fully nude, shave bald I couldn't imagine trying to color a landing strip
or whatever. Suprising enough guys pay attention to eyebrows, I use a pencil to darken mine or you can't
see them on stage I also color them darker when I color my hair but they grow out faster than my hair
I wish my hair grew that fast! Using a darker natural shade of red from a beauty supply company is
much better than buying something from wallgreens, better yet if you go red have a professional do it
if it's a seriously drastic change from your natural color. I wouldn't go red if you tan, or are
dark complected. I tan poorly, last time I tried the tanning salon my ass resembled a lobster!
My SO was like WTF did you do to your ass.. So there are specific traits that guys looks
for.. amazing they are so observant they don't want a bottle redhead they want a fire bush!

Not always. There are people who dye their hair blonde and can't pull that off either.

I don't have freckles but I have the right skin tone and green eyes. I've had people ask to get really close and check my roots to see if I'm telling the truth. Like I'd lie about dying my hair.
(Ha, funny thing: I get accused of wearing colored contacts when they are really green and I get "accused" of being a natural redhead when I dye it!)

I think it's the black lights on green eyes, I bet that looks wicked plus having red hair woot! What roots mu ha ha ha
Were in this business based on looks and personality, but our looks are what get us noticed in a sea of beautiful options.
I like being the redhead with blue eyes and great tits, even then guys think my tits are real and they are fake.
Now that I won't lie about, I tell them yes they are real, really expensive (grin). There aren't enough
redheads anyway, I have been the only one at most of the clubs I have worked at. I say we give the blondes and brunettes
a run for their money.. oh wait thats easy (Just kidding) but seriously I say more power to any woman who
can pull off being a redhead natural or not!

i find that guys in general seem to like redheads. i don't get caught up in what men find attractive because men prefer different types of women.

i myself am a powder redhead. powder because i use henna instead of traditional chemical dye. i'm lucky enough that the color (light auburnish) looks fantastic on me. i'm of czech/irish/norwegian descent with pale, pale skin and lots of freckles. being a redhead is awesome! it really sets you apart from the sea of blondes.

i've used to be a bottle redhead, like a real dark burgundy color and everyone thought it was natural and i liked it a lot, then i tried the blond thing and everyone thought it was natural, then i went back to my natural color(almost black) and everyone thought it was fake! i love love love red hair, it's so pretty but i've only met one guy who loved redheads(and he LOVED redheads) so that's when i started thinking, "hey wait a minute...why does that seem so wierd?" then i started to take notice of how men reacted to red hair and it seemed almost "fetishy". they either REALLY love it or REALLY hate it. After reading this thread though, it makes me miss being red!!! i want to go home and dye it right now!!! P.S i think redheads with tans are super hot cuz it's like Whoa! you don't expect it and it's pretty.

Like dark tans or bronzed? Does anyone know about Lindsey Lohan if she is a natural redhead because that girl
looks great with redhair and a tan.. Me, I would have to do that spray tanning thing.
