    Default stripping for free

this is a vent and i'm sleepy, i know i didnt capitalize my letters, i know have run-on sentences, don't be an annoying english teacher...

okay i've worked at alot clubs, and i went back to one i worked at a long time ago. When i worked there i was making hundreds... i was even the highest payed girl. Today was my second day back and i made less than 10 dollars, which i got from stage tips. the scary thing is... i'm happy with that. I love the club, and i love dancing there, even if it is for no money... but how am i gunna pay my bills at the end of the month?

the second thing is this the only time that i have been dope-free ... no more drugs! i got rid of the bad boy boyfriend and all his habits he pushed on me. but heres the pros and cons
    pros
    1. i now have a future
    2. i have better control of my body
    3. no wasting money
    cons
    1. not super funny and talkative cuz of the speed
    2. gaining weight
    3. tired at night

There are NEVER any cons to not using drugs. You said a pro is you have control of your body. So take care of your body, and go to the gym. Then you wont gain weight, and you'll have more energy. Get mor esleep at night, and you won't be as tired.

As for the money. Whiel its great that you are enjoying your job and love to be there, it's not ok that you are ok not makign money. Your there to work. When you work, you get paid. You wouldnt work a full day at the office or whatever, and be ok if you boss said, so since you like your job so much, I wont pay you, ok?
Everyone has bad nights, and it's good your not getting down about it, but it should not be acceptable to make only $10. Set a monitary goal for yoursel, and strive to hit that goal. It's ok if you dont make it, as long as you tried your hardest, and know you put forth the effort.

Ditto what she said. If you actually can make a list of the cons of not using drugs, you have a problem. And even the top earners have shitty nights, one night isn't going to predict your whole stripping future. If you have problems with drug use, stripping may not be the best profession for you.

Uh, a pro would be NOT looking emaniated and gross looking.
I always had BAGS and my undereyes were even darker than normal when I was using drugs and getting no sleep.

Honestly, drugs aren't good in the long run, or the short run, and they're expensive. There are many more cons than pros. Like staying disease free, being out of jail, etc.

But hey, if you're happy - keep working there. Mabye it was just a REALLY bad night.

ummm... i don't have a drug problem, and will never touch it again. that was semi-rude, but maybe you didn't mean it like i took it. even on drug websites they have pro's and con's of drugs. obviously it's way better outcome not to do drugs. i don't even have cravings for it. but yea, i wont take it personal.... people are different and have different ways of thinkinging, but thankyou for your other advice...

Oh no, that totally wasn't the intention of my post, it is a big thing when someone decides to quit anything that is putting their overall health at risk.

Eh, when I first started DJing, I wasn't worried about how much I was making. When I went back to it after about a year and a half hiatus, I was very happy to make a couple hundred a night.

    It didn't last long, lol...

You wiil soon start to feel like you ought to get paid what you are worth again, I would guess. You'll get back into the money-making groove, if you were able to bank before, and you now have the added advantage of a clear (drug-free) head.

In the meantime, with the tendency towards burnout and disillusionment in this industry being so strong, it's great that you can go into work and have fun with it. My advice--try to retain the attitude that it's fun regardless of how much money you are making, and you'll wind up making a lot more of it.

From my experience, the dancers who are having fun--or at least look like it--always seem to make more than the ones who hate going onstage and hate the customers and hate the club, etc. I don't blame the latter category at all, it's a rough business, but the more you can avoid it, the better off you'll be.

There are no pros of drugs. Period. Losing weight because your heart is beating faster than it should is not a pro. Talking and being hyper active because your heart is hyper active not a pro. Etc. THERE ARE NO PROS. They all fuck your body up, period. And I'm saying this might not be the best industry for you because even though you think you have a handle on it now, this industry has a lot of temptation for past drug users, that's a fact.

Please, don't take this in a bad way--I have read many of your posts, and you are a very strong and well-adjusted person, with a great attitude. I like your style. You are substantially correct, and even more so as far as recreational drug use is concerned--especially with the horrible things we have all seen as a result in the clubs.

But if there were no pros of drugs whatsoever, why on earth is there a pharmaceutical industry? And why are the pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors getting filthy rich, lol? Why do doctors prescribe drugs with such profligacy?

Obviously drug abuse is a bad thing, and one of the greatest dangers of involvement in the business, from what I've seen. And people with a tendency towards addiction need to stay away from drugs, to be sure.

I mean no disrespect, please don't get mad.

Oh hun I couldn't get mad at you! I meant the drugs she was referring to, dope, illegal drugs. She's speaking about the class of drugs like speed, coke, herion, etc.

Edited to add: I don't have problems with drugs like pot, but my main concern is with life destroying drugs (yes pot can destroy a life but it would be more the person than the drug) like coke, herion, etc. You catch my drift.

i think she was referring to the pros of how the drugs helped her make money at work... not the pros of doing the drugs in general. similar to how some girls say they can't make money unless they've had a few drinks. once you get into a habit of making money a certain way, it's hard to try it sober. personaly, i don't drink much at work. i drink enough at home that i don't need to kill myself more at work. .. and i don't do any other drugs (besides smoke.. and even that im cutting back on). oh and, i'd never smoke before/at work....... i wouldn't get anything done. i would just sit in the back and eat fritos.

I think it's great that you're not doing drugs anymore.

If you're worried about your energy level just have a monster or red bull (my current fave is Tab energy drink - it's much less disgusting than Red Bull).

You probably got too skinny while taking speed & now you're putting some curves back on. Like it was said above, if it bugs you just work out more.

Fake that talkative energy you used to have. I act slightly ditsy/tipsy to customers all the time when I haven't had a drop of alcohol. Just fake it.

    PS - I'm a Taurus

Given the context, I was wrong to question her (sc0101's) statement. Maybe it was because I ran out of weed last night, and I like to take a little hit after work, lol!

But the OP is so clearly better off drug-free, that I regret posting that--except that in clarification I had a pleasant exchange of PMs with sc0101, who is way cool.

No, it isn't. Why would you assume it is?
