    Default Homemade Biore Strips Recipes

I found this on a forum over the weekend. I found several recipes, but I've only tried one so far.

    1) Elmers Glue Recipe
After washing a clean face, dry off with a towel and apply elmer's glue to the area that is filled w/ blackheads. Apply a layer of glue on your face, concentrating on the nose area if that is a problem area for you. Let it dry completely and peel off as you would with a peel-off mask. Rinse what residue doesn't come off when peeling.

    2) Geletin Pore Unplug Facial Recipe

    Ingredients:

    1. 1 pouch Knox Unflavored Gelatin (technically, I don't remember finding just a pouch in the grocery, they usually come in boxes. There are about four pouches in each box so this would be ample supply!)
    2. Onion Skin paper, cut into 2x3" squares (or bigger if you prefer, for those areas like forehead, My forehead usually requires bigger squares
    3. a small sauce pan
    4. a small bowl to cool melted gelatin
    5. a brush (optional, you can use your finger too)

    Directions:
    1. melt the gelatin in a saucepan, enough to make a thick paste. When the powder gets dissolved and turns clear, remove from heat.
    2. get the onion skin paper ready
    3. when the gelatin is cool enough to the touch (not going to scald you) , apply on your face.(you may use brush also)
    4. Quickly "paste" or lay the onionskin paper onto the area applied.
    5. When all your problem areas are covered, wait til the paper dries. You will know when it's time. You can channel surf, read or just close your eyes and relax while this process goes through.
    6. Carefully peel the paper off your face...examine all the buggers uprooted (I swear they always stand on the paper!--grooosss!)
    7. Wash your face with lukewarm water. Pat dry and feel the smoothness!!

    3) Inside the Egg Recipe

On the inside of an egg is a little piece of "skin." It's transparent, usually located at the base. Peel it off and apply it to your nose or anywhere blackheads occur. It will draw out the impurities in your skin. Apply it fresh and peel it off when it dries. You may need to add a bit of water to remove it.

If I happen to find more, I'll add to this list! Happy Clear Skin ladies!!!

trippy...I never would have thought to use any of those...surely they're more gentle than those biore strips. Someone on here once recommended wax to remove blackheads...like the kind of wax you use for your eyebrows.

ck, which one did you try?

I used plain ol' Elmers Glue. After I washed my face, I put it on my nose, and I waited (actually I forgot about it lol) for about 20-30min and then I peeled it off. You could see the crap sticking up on the glue film...Better off on the glue, than continue to be living on top of my nose

I hate the Biore strips. All they do is exfoilate, the don't pull out much gunk. They dry adn don't adhere to my skin, so they don't get all those nasty ones in the angles of my nose.

Yeah, I do try to pop them out or pull them out with needle-nose tweezers. I get huge holes sometimes, and my nost is kinda pitted from past poppings.

I'm obsessed with biore pore strips. I just used one about 1 hr ago actually. I always get a lot of little spiky things that come out ....the glue works for this?!?!? I mean, I really don't feel that the pore strips are all that expensive...I use one per week (of the "ultra" ones with tea tree oil) and they always come with a $1 off coupon, but I'm intersted in this glue thing.

OMG The Biore strips look like a mini forest when I use them on my nose...and I wonder why/how that crap keeps returning to my nose!!!

I've tried other brands but they are garbage compared to Biore!!!

Yeah, me too. I love biore. Mine is definitely a mini-forest. Ok, this is probably TMI, but my little spiky things are clearish-white, they're never black or anything. Is this normal? My bf things I'm crazy and gross, b/c I'm always "inspecting" my strips after I use them, but in my defense, I am inspecting the pattern, so I know where to clean the best!

LMAO I inspect mine too and they are supposed to be clear lol. I love those biore strips I used to call them ripper-outers.

those strips hardly ever worked for me so just squeeze the gunk out or like you pull them out with tweezers. it's oddly satisfying.

Me too! I even "shave" my nose with my razor to make them easier to squeeze out. It shaves off the top layer of skin, so they're easier to pop out.

Some people tell me to use the strips after a hot shower, when my pores are open. I dunno, maybe I wasn't using them right.

To the people who had success with the strips: How do you use them? They never worked for me.

Why? You girls can talk about poop but not blackheads

Has anyone tried the glue yet? I think I may do it again today, with this time doing my whole t-zone

^^^Same with me. But I've got the obnoxious fragile-dry skin that breaks out anyway.

This is a super helpful thread, CK, and comes at a good time. I'm planning a home-spa day for my BF when he's done with his thesis next week. I adore the guy, but his skin has really gone to shit these past few weeks since he's been working so much and not sleeping enough/ eating right/ etc. I'd love to send him to a real spa, but he's not metrosexual enough to go for that, so I've been researching home facials and clay packs and seaweed wraps and all that nonsense. I'm sure if I look pretty enough he'll let me get all girly on his face. I just want my man to look as lovely as I do... is that so wrong?

Nope, not at all. Our significant others should always be a positive complement to ourself.

I have used the gelatin version before. When I did it the mixture was such a thick past that I didn't even need anything to back it (onion paper?) with. It was thick and goopy so it got into all of the bends and curves around my nose. The only thing is it gets REALLY hard so it is a bit painful taking it off, especially if some gets on the delicate skin near the eyes. I would reccommend it but be careful!

    ok, just tried the glue...

pretty much the same results as biore strips....nothing

but those strips don't work for me, so if they work for you, then glue would probably work.

however! the places i put it on (nose and top of cheeks and middle of chin) feel like butta! i imagine it's because the glue took off all the dead skin cells.

i pretty much feels exactly like those cucumber facial peels after it dries.

in the end, for me it's a just a super inexpensive dead skin cell remover, lol
