    Default New Kitten Names

Getting a new Kitten this Saturday, having some trouble with names. My other pets have names that end with "ie". So something along those lines at least as far as how it sounds are appreciated, but its ok to stray from that.

Yes I'll post pictures once I get them too.

Her current name from the people I'm getting her from is "Chupacabra", "Chupie" for short, though the fiancee has nixed that name sadly
Guy #1: I'd totally hit that.

I used to have a kitty named Megaweapon and I always wanted another one named War Machine. I was also enamored of the totally hideous name Mr. Meowskins, one of my friend's cats.

My next cat will be named Sir Patches of Patchington Manor. My current cat is named Squeaky, in tribute to Squeaky Fromme (hey, I got her when I was 16).

So what I'm saying is it's funny to give your cute fluffy fuzzball an imposing name. It's not like the other cats are going to tease them, you know?

Next female cat I get will be called Artemisia, after my favorite woman in history. I have always loved the story, and the name. I just read a great book about Salamis, though, which got into a little more detail about her.

You could go normal with Leslie, Macy, Tracy, etc. Or...spice it up with something awful but fun like...Schmoopie! A friend of mine recently got a beagle and named him Keifer Muffintop. My cats are Duncan and Monty, nothing too bizarre there. Most of the other pets we let the kids name and they somehow always end up with some sort of "stripper name". (We have a fish named Star and a python named Amber.) I think "Chupie" is kinda cute, especially since it's short for a creepy demonic vampiric "goat sucker" critter.

heh my last kitten was named "putita" little bitch heh it was shortened to "puta" after not too long.

im terrible when it comes to naming things.

my friend is having a baby and i tried convincing her "neo" was a cool name for a kid.

    see? hopeless.

Jim-Jam Girlie would be a great name. As would Mrs. Kitty Funkenstein.

I like Chupie as well, as it does fit the cat from its "jumping around" as I was told. Still a good story.

Our dog is a Chihuahua mix with what we think is a form of terrier. I named her Elbie. Which is a derivative of the initials LB, which stands for Little Bitch. Since my cat Roxie likes to sneak up on her and kick her ass. She's Roxie's little bitch.

You can go with "Chewie", which is short for either "Jesus" or "Chewbacca",
"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

I think cats will tell you their name if you let them. Just bring the ktty home, let it live with you awhile, and one day you will call it something and you will realize that that is its name.

    However, if you'd rather:
    16,822 cat names at http://www.kessels.com/CatNames/index.html
    5,000 cat names at http://www.cat-names.us/

Grayborn, our newest catten, was sitting on me when I accessed that first link, and the cat meowing there sure got his attention! He almost jumped through the display!

My cats have a "theme" named as well. They are named after all things witchy.
    Spooky(nicknames...Spook, Pookie, Pookins, Pookers)
    Salem
    Aries(after the zodiac sign)
    Ivy
    Isis

What colour(s) is your kitten? That may help in suggesting names too. I like the idea of letting the cat live with you and observe its behaviour. I had to do this with Spooky. I didn't know what to name her, but after a week I noticed that EVERYTHING spooked her...hence naming her Spooky.

Utah Mike is right. That's how my cat got her name. Initially she was "Lucky" because I scooped her up and rescued her from the middle of a very busy street ( how a 3 week old kitten got there I'll never know ) but we started calling her "Munchy" or " Munchkin" because she was ALWAYS hungry and eating ( I bottle fed her for the first 10 days ) and it just stuck so now she's "Munchkin".

I usually wait to give them names once I get them, but just decided to have some fun brainstorming. The more ideas I get in my head the more creative my impression will be with her on the drive home.

The idea of Gypsie recently came to me, though don't know how it'll fit.

Not Jesus (Gee-zus), but Jesus (Hey-sus).
