Grr!! Windows Vista. SUCKS!!!!!
!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got this nifty new laptop, and it's cool and all, but unfortunately it has Vista installed. The damn thing doesn't recognize my USB drive. At all. Nada.
The USB works fine on my PC and on my crappy ollllllllddd laptop, but not this oneI have read on some geek forums that the device manufacturer does not have a driver for Vista, and won't until sometime later this year. bleh
And I just spent hours the other night getting the USB all configured with my portable apps and crucial biz files so I can work from anywhere, but now it won't work with my new laptop, and I'm planning to get rid of the PC and old laptop so I NEED the USB to work with the new laptop.
Dammit!!
If I have Windows XP (legit version) from my PC and I can find the install disk, is it possible to install XP on the laptop, or are there licensing issues with installing it on a different computer? So far installing XP on the laptop is the only way I can think of to solve this problem, but if I can't install it on another computer, I might be screwed....
Anyone got any ideas?
