Default NOW where are these f'ing zits coming from???

I really really believed I had a handle on my zits. My skin was CLEAR! then on St Patricks day I ate one small piece of my sons birthday cake, and promptly got 2 zits on my chin. They will NOT go away. Now I am breaking out every fucking where. I have gotten maybe 5 more zits since then. NONE of them will go away. I dint change anything in my routine or my diet. What else could it be?

Zits can be totally random, and usually are. No real way to tell where they came from, just keep them clean and dry and get some over the counter drying out cream.

Eating chocolate does not cause zits! A zit begins approximately 2-3 weeks before it appears on your skin's surface. It starts in your sebaceous hair follicles, the tiny holes commonly called pores.

Scientists have been unable to find ANY substantial connection between diet and acne.

Anything with salicylic acid in it works well to get rid of zits and u can use it provided your not allergic to asprin.

I used to have probs with zits and I have been having microdermabrasion done and I must recommend u give it a go. My skin has changed dramatically.

It is AU$120 per treatment and u will require a few treatments at first usually but after that only every few months for maintenance.

^Well, although they haven't found anything substantial, I'm sure there's SOME connection (since what you put into your body becomes your body). But, I don't think a peice of cake would cause a break out like that... Unless your skin is especially sensitive and there was something in that cake that your body didn't like.

I had a break out a week ago and I STILL don't know wtf happened!

A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every day has cleared my skin up something fierce! I'm in the middle of my period right now; normally I'd be craterface, but I only have a couple of small dry bumps which don't even seem to be zits and they're going away. I've only been doing the cider vinegar for about a week and a half, but it's really working wonders. I put it in a glass of apple juice and drink it with breakfast.

^^hmm, I've never heard of that! It really works?? My skin is mostly clear and I'm usually pretty happy with it, but I'm always willing to try something that will help me stay completely clear, all the time.

Yes, I personally have found a serious link between what I eat and what my face looks like. Not everybody has this issue, but some people certainly do.

I will def. check into the microdermabrasion. Will it help heal the scars, too?

    Colleen-
I have been using plain 'Milk of Magnesia' on my face as a mask and it works really well. It gets rid of the redness and calms inflammation. It just sucks all the oil right off my face.

I got a horrible cystic pimple a few days ago and have been using the queen helene julep mask as a spot treatment overnight and after 2 days the pimple has reduced by 70%. Usually it would last at least a week.

I've tried so many products and the only thing that has always worked for me for preventing cystic pimples is benzoyl Peroxide. After they've surfaced most products just irritate pimples further, but I have to put something on them or I'll go crazy and pick at it. So the milnt Julep mask and Milk of magnesia are IMO, the best things to try and calm a blemish without irritating it even more.

I'm a BP fan also, use a 2.5% gel twice daily and it's made a big diff for me. Coincidentally I've avoided salicylic acid on my face ever since I noticed it's the same thing used in wart remover.

Colleen, do you take a ton of vitamins? Sometimes when I'm taking too many, it causes me to break out..... I'm thinking it's part of the detox.

Also.... when I cut dairy totally out of my diet.... my breakouts went down by about fifty percent. I hate dairy.

Another thing... breakouts that are in the chin to nose area are hormone related. Make sure you aren't touching your face or resting the phone on your chin.

I use Arbonne skin products... the anti aging line and my skin has cleared up tremendously since I switched to this. I used to just have a ton of black heads and a few breakouts from time to time. Black heads are pretty much gone and even fewer breakouts.

    Acne comes down to:

Cystic: it's hormonal, treat internally, naturally or with drugs, your choice

Clogged pores: it's external. something was on your face, your skin is shedding slower...something is allowing keratin and sebum to mix together, sit in your pores, and cause an infection. Treat with chemical and/or physical exfoliants.

I believe in the food-diet connection, but not as strongly as I once did. Mainly because my acne went away not as a result of extensive experimentation with food, but when I finally broke down and got a prescription for a retinoid.

I seem to be prone to EVERY kind of acne--Occasional big cysts (almost always related to food or new products-have no idea why products would do this to me, but its a fact, they do) blackheads, whiteheads, ordinary white pimples that burst on contact, etc. Almost everything can fuck me up, too--my period, food, moisturizer, makeup, touching my face, and on and on. It just seems like it never ends.

I have been cutting sown on coffee, although its hard as hell, and dringking tea instead. Sucks, but it sees to be working.
