Default I got my car back

My brother said "you need it and it's getting to be a pain in the butt for all of us." He isn't mad so thanks for the advice.

IT went well, he's kinda fed up with his job so he's looking for one that is closer to the apt. It kinda happened cause I said "I need the car on Friday cause I have a docs apt" and he rolled his eyes and we kinda knew that this was going to be a little bit of a prob but I said "look I'll take you to work early and then I'll go get you." he said "I'll bring you the car and drop it off."

He left and I called him and said "Your not at work so can you come over so I can use the car cause I have to mail something out." he said "No I have an interview at 4." it was 2 pm and I said "but I'll put gas in the tank" he said "look don't worry after today you'll have your car back, you need it and it's starting to become a pain in the butt for all of us."

After his interview he dropped the car off gave me the key and said "Good luck with your jewelry thing." and walked off

I don't know if my mom spoke to him or what but I'm kinda happy I got my car back, I'm kinda sad that my brother is upset. My husband came in running cause he saw the car in the garage and the lights off and he freaked out! he thought something was wrong.

Oh a good, no a great thing happened the neighbors moved back in down the st, they had left for almost 2 yrs cause they were remodeling their house, so I went for a walk with the kids saw the minivan and rang the doorbell. She's home with a new baby so now 2 boys and a girl! The boys are around the same age as mine and the girl is just maybe 2 mo old. She's also nursing so I told her about the other site I go to and we kinda said we have to get together and have a play date, so YAY!

Anyway thanks so much for the advice and help and I hope you guys don't mind but I kinda like it here and can I stay?

    HLH,
maybe i missed a whole thing about this somewhere else so definitely correct me if i'm wrong or waaay off-base here.
    • you lent...your car to your brother for free and offered to let him keep using it.
    • you just needed your car back for one day and even then for only part of that day for a doctor's appointment.
    • he gets an attitude towards you for daring to offer to keep lending him...your car...for free.
    • he then proceeeds to give you lip and more attitude for saying your favor...to him was getting to be a "pain in the butt".
    • he didn't say "thank you".
    wtf?

actually, i have a similar type issue regarding my parents right now (more my father than my mother really). so believe me when i mean no offense when i say, i'm thinking you're just chalking this twilight zone situation to some genetic mutation within your family (because i think the mutation runs in my family as well).

i'm sorry if i'm offending you and/or your brother (well, i don't really care if i offend him but i don't want to offend you ), but i just calls it as i sees it.

Ohh..I used to lend my best friend my car. Until it got to the point she would call and say, hey, I need the car today, Im comming to get it. And I woudl say, but i need my car today, and she would give me an attitude for not being able to loan her my car. Well....she never got my car again after that. Its like, you do a nice thing for someone, then they EXPECT that favor, and when your unable or unwilling, they get pissed at you. Screw that.

Good for you for getting your car. Tell him next time he wants it, to ask nicely for it, say please and thank you, and fill up the gas tank as a show of appriciation. Anyone borrowing a car should fill the tank. Its just the nice thing to do.
