    Constructive Critisism

Hi All! I'm new to the board, hopefully I can get some great advice from ya'll. I went to an amature night Tuesday, first time dancing on stage. It felt so good and to be an object of everyone's attention was mind blowing.....so therefore, I talked to the manager once the contest was over and I asked him if he thought I had what it took to work there, keeping him in mind that was my first time EVER doing that. First he kind of gave me the rundown of what he required (7 hour shifts, etc..) then he told me that I had a great personality and that I was an absolute charmer, BUT I needed to tan a little bit and tone up my tummy (I just had my second son January 11th) and maybe I could come back. So I took his advice and went and purchased my little tanning package, which it won't take me but a week or two to get a great bronze effect, and started my pilates program. Sorry for the long intro to the actual question...lol. So my question is...when is it that I should try again...AND should I try the same club or go to a different one. His words didn't hurt my feelings, but I would really feel embarassed if I went back and was put off a second time. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

I assume your in Vegas? May I ask what club you tried to be hired at?

You can always go try other clubs now, they may not have as strict hiring standards and let you start working now. That will also help you tone up faster if you dancing, and when you feel ready, go back to the other club if you want to.

I am in Greenville, SC...G'Vegas is a nickname for this city (i.e. there are alot of clubs/night life here) The club I tried was called The Trophy Club...alot of the girls in there are toned up, but there are a few that could use work just like me. It's also one of the best clubs around. There are approximately 15 clubs in the immediate area, three or four of them being the major ones. I haven't been to any of the other ones besides 2, and the girls there look like they have the same body types as the club I went to. I know I don't want to dance at some hole in the wall until i get enough courage to go back....

^^Don't count out the hole in the wall clubs when you are first getting started. They can be great stepping stones to get to where you want to end up. I've made great money in all tiers of clubs, from dives to beautiful gown clubs.

I dont know if you're interested, but I'm at Platinum Plus in Columbia SC and from what I hear theres one in Greenville. Several girls from my club run back and forth between cities. While I can't speak for G-Vegas, I love my Columbia club and I doubt you'd have much difficulty getting on there, mgmt is pretty cool. Best of luck whatever you decide, just wanted to provide another option if your interested.

fuck these clubs that want to make girls tan. i've never had a manager tell me that. they'd get a huge laugh and i'd work somewhere else. not every girl looks good with a tan

see my rant about it here
    http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87274

now if you like yourself with a tan and you want to tan, go for it, but if you're not comfortable doing it, fuck em. the tummy thing is more understandable.

i agree with what gingerlee said. also, a good thing to understand is that not all "hole in the wall" clubs are dirty or scary. likewise, not all upscale clubs are clean and nice. the best way to decide if you want to work for a club or not is to call the manager and ask when would be a good time for you to come in, interview and "get a feel for the place". tell them you'd like to hang out for a little bit. ANY club worth working at will let you do this. they'll also show you around, introduce you to some people, etc. just call ahead because that way he/she can have you come in at a time when it's least likely to be super busy. what you want to look for are things like...

-is the VIP section/back room(s) attended by someone? they should be. you don't want to be alone in a secluded part of the club with a customer. ever. a bouncer should always be an earshot away.
-what's your vibe from the manager? make sure he seems professional and serious about his job. if he acts like he's "hanging out" or gives you a creepy feeling, you might want to reconsider working there.
-what do the girls seem like? ... this one's tricky. sometimes even the best clubs have a couple weirdos. you have to judge this one more on a whole. do the girls generaly seem drug free, professional, etc.?

there's all sorts of info on what to look for in a club on these forums. reading reviews doesn't hurt either. just go in and see a few clubs for yourself. it usualy isn't too hard to pick out the bad ones once you know what to look for. just -like i said- judge EVERY club with the same eye. do -not- be "dazzled" by a "pretty club" and forget to keep your eyes open.
