    Default Hair, long beautiful hair

How can I get some? I have curly hair and I've never been able to grow my hair for more than my shoulder lenght but even if it's not long I would like for it to be healthy and look nice.

So do you have curly hair?
what do you use in it?
    How do you style it?
How often do you wash it?
DO you color it? How often?
Is there anything out there that helps hair grow?

    TIA

My hair is very wavy/ somewhat curly. Right now it's just past my shoulders but I want to grow it longer. I don't shampoo it every time I shower... only 2-4 times a week, but the rest of the time I make sure to just use a good conditioner, and also deep condition once a week. After showering, I put Garnier curl construct mousse in it, along with a little anti-frizz serum, mess it up a bit, and maybe (if I'm feeling ambitious) blow dry the roots to get some nice lift. By letting my hair air-dry it gets nice and sexy bed-head wavy/curly.

I also color my hair red... which is a royal pain in the ass... and I end up re-dyeing it every 4-6 weeks.

And as far as I know, there is NOTHING to make hair grow faster, other than eating a well-balanced diet and taking good care of it.

    Hope this helps!

Yeah, taking good care of yourself will help your hair grow. I have the super curly hair, and only in the last year has it started growing, now past my shoulders. I just wash it every few days, but I do get it wet every morning and brush it thoughrouly every morning (while wet, of course), which I think has helped. To control the frizz I use Potion 9 by Sebastian. Just a little nickle-sized amout does wonders, and its not too expensive, either.

    Take a biotin supplement.
and GNC has a vitamin called "ultra nourish hair" that might help you. Dont buy the "hair, skin, nails" ones, just one for hair (skin and nails will benefit just as much from this one).

and you might try using certified organic shampoos/conditoners/styling products....without all the chemicals your hair should feel smoother and healthier

    I highly recommend this site:

It's great for those looking for a natural way to keep your hair long and nice.

The best advice I'd have for curly hair is to comb through curls with conditioner in the shower, let curls dry with serum while sopping wet. Annoying, but produces amazing results. No brushes!

    1. read the SW ultra hair thread about a hair vitamin regimine

    2. Wash only 3 days a week, condition every day ( if you have dry hair oily hair will get to oily this way)

    3. No heat! let it air dry

    4. Deep condition 1-2 times a week

    5. No perms/coloring, or chemicials of any kind.

    6. Get it cut every 6 weeks. Long hair wont be any good if its all split and ragged.
Just be kind to your hair, take your vitamins and watch it grow long and healthy

I have been growing my hair for awhile and it's almost touching my waist. I wash it once a week and condition it every time I wet it in the shower. I don't heat style or use products with silicones. I definitely haven't been keeping up with deep conditioning like I should because it's awesome for your hair. I like Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment and Curl Junkie Banana and Hibiscus Deep Treatment. Both are available at Curlmart.com. There are a lot of recipes for homemade DTs floating around, too.

Try to wear your hair up in a bun or braid as often as possible as this keeps it out of harm's way. Consider getting a silk or satin pillowcase.

Getting your hair cut every six weeks is probably too often. You'll just be cutting off your progress. You probably shouldn't be going more often than every 10-12 weeks. If you see a split end in the meantime you can cut it using sharp scissors meant for cutting hair (do not use them to cut anything else).

Here is a pretty good list of haircare ingredients:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsc...351e95b0ab4c10

I think finding products with good ingredients makes a difference. The whole silicone-free thing works for some people, other people feel like their hair just doesn't look right without silicones. I, personally, don't use them because I only wash once a week with a non-sulfate shampoo, which really isn't enough to remove silicone build-up. It keeps my hair from drying out, though.

My hair isn't curly, but it has finally gotten long again. One of the things that helped me was only getting my hair colored at the salon. Never ever at home. It is just less damaging, since they know exactly how long to leave it on and generally use higher quality products. I also only wash my hair a couple times a week and try to let it air dry.

My hair just looks like shit when it gets past my shoulders no matter what I do. So, how did I get long, beautiful blonde hair?

I want to get extensions but with all the shower shows I do and the fact I feel dirty if I cant wash my hair every day or at least ever other day... plus I was told they can ruin your hair...

I dunno I would love to have extensions.

Till then im growing my hair out I guess... its past my shoulders fairly close to the middle of my back now.

My hair is super healthy.. I wash it daily using dove products... I never ever ever use a hair dryer, I rarely straighten it. When im not at work its pulled into a bun. I never use any hair spray or gel. Once a month I will use a hair serum on it.

People are always shocked at how healthy shiny and soft my hair is... speshly since I wash it daily.

Clip in extensions!!! I love fusion extensions but the fact is, they ruined my hair! Not saying that they will definitely ruin your hair, but they are so high maintenance, that if you don't take excellent care of them, they will destroy your hair. When I took out my fusion extensions, my hair was just past my shoulders and a weak straggly mess. Clip ins give the same look and you can take them out at the end of the night and wash your hair. These are what helped me survive the lengthy growing out process.

Clip ins wont work for me either

I do way too much pole work and I do shower shows and fire shows(I have to pull my hair into a bun for fire shows).

Im just not meant to have extensions *lesigh*

Well, they won't work when you put your hair in a bun. But they should stay during extreme pole work if you put them in securely. I also think they would stay in if you get them a little wet during a shower show, but I wouldn't soak em.

Damn, I see why you would pull your hair into a bun for a fire show! That could be a disaster!!

My hair is long because I have a phobia about getting my hair cut. I need one, though--about 3" of split ends. :\

Anyway, I wash with Nexxus Therappe and condition with Humectress. I usually air-dry and sometimes blow my hair dry with an ionic hairdryer. My hair is naturally pin-straight and fine, so it has great silky texture and shine, but tangles if I look at it wrong. I admit that for the most part I just put it in a braid and a clip to keep it out of my way, and I hardly ever use styling products, so its health is largely related to my laziness.

I learned to cut my own hair (from a book). I just cut no more than 1 1/2 inches @ a time a couple times a year. I always cut @ the waxing moon just after the 1st quarter, preferably when it's in a water sign. I also use a Chinese herb shampoo I've bought online from lamasbeauty.com, it's growth (supposedly) stimulating, alternating with a moisturizing shampoo. I deep condition every time I wash my hair (which is only a couple times a week since it's very dry & color treated). I take vitamins, sometimes hair vitamins, & try to eat a high protein diet. I used to check out longhairlovers.com, but haven't been on it in a while. Curly hair takes longer to show growth, because of its pattern. Good luck.

I've done glue in extensions and I've had extensions sewn in and they completely ruined my hair... it looks like I have cancer... now I use clip in extensions which are awesome b/c I have to wash my hair every couple of days to get rid of product build up and condition daily. Oh and I do extensive pole work and they stay in. They are your best bet if you wanna do extensions.
