    Default PMS+Home dye=UH OH

Oh, I am so clever. I respond to stress by creating...more stress!

I had a week of major stress+fighting with my partner+PMS.

I had been meaning to change my hair. So I dye it blue-black and then cut off a couple inches so it's all bobbed.

I liked it for about...10 minutes.

At least I didn't bleach my hair like I was going to?

So now my master plan is tough it out for a few months and then get it stripped back to light brown.

My hair is still in good condition, but it is blue-black.

    Is this...possible? TIA SW hairstylists.

i think blue black is the darkest color you could possibly go! Its probably just seems bad to you because you aren't used to it. You never know it might grown on you (no pun intended! )

Im sure a hairstylist could give you good advice. maybe just stop by some place and ask what they think your options would be

Haha yeah it's soo dark. I have olive skin though, so it doesn't look too too fake.

Hmm, I'm thinking I'll keep it for the summer and maybe get it dyed light brown for my birthday in the fall.

6 months of deep conditioning/babying my hair can't hurt.

Would you like it better if it was longer? I always think super dark hair is hot when it is long and thick. Consider buying some clip in extensions for work. They are so easy to use and won't damage your hair.

A blue-black bob? That sounds hot!

And going from black back to brown shouldn't be too hard for a good hairdresser to manage in one appointment. I went from blue-black to red in one afternoon with no damage to my hair.

Depends on the type of dye used... If it's a permanent hair color, we're looking a color correction. If it's a demi-permanent, it's still challenging but considerably less difficult than the former.

A declorizer must be used, it's the only way to lift artificial color. Most stylists will approach the situation one of three ways:

    1. tell you your SOL. The only optionis to cut it off.

    2. use a soap cap (a mixture of bleach, shampoo, and water), or an all-over on the scalp, oil bleach to try and lift the hair to a more pliable color

    3. Suggest regular, heavy all over highlighting until desired result is eventually achieved.

Depending on the length of your bob, opt. 2 may be do-able. It's usually the worst option for anyone with hair past chin length because an all-over bleaching never lifts evenly, especially with a black permanent color. You'll get splotchy orange and red hair. For short hair, you still have this problem, but filling the blotches back to even is easier because there's simply less hair to deal with. Make sure they're only using a demi-permanent on your hair after an all-over bleaching.

Option 3 typically gives the best results IMO but requires patience and regular upkeep. You'll have an akward stage, you probaly won't like the way your hair looks until the third or fourth visit. But if done correctly (bleach is used to touch-up roots of previous highlights-not applied over and over mid shaft to ends, base color out growth done with a demi-permanent only) the damage done to the hair is much more controlled and minimazed compared to opt 2.

Using good moisture and protein treatments before and after your service is an excellent idea. I highly reccomend Redken's CAT. It's pure liquid protein. Spay in on clean, towel dried hair (before you condition) let it sit for 5 minutes, rinse and follow up with a moisturing conditioner. It IS NOT a conditioner. If you don't use on immediately after it, your hair will feel like ass.

My hair is about an inch past chin length. I just called a salon and they suggested a bleaching bath because of the short length and the fact that I just want to go back to a medium brown, not super light.

    I used a permanent blue-black. Damn you Nice&Easy.
