    Default pole vs. me??

    Hey everybody!!

This is embarassing...lol..seriously I can't climb a pole to save my life!! Has anyone else had this problem ...I'm assuming it's because I don't have enough upper body strength to help pull me up...Anyhow your reponses would be great!!

If you do it right, your arms don't have to do *that* much work, they just hold your position while you move your legs up underneath. If you can grip the pole with just your legs, the it shouldn't be that much of a step from there (one leg infront, and one behind the pole, use the pvc on the top of your shoe to help). move your hands up only a little each time, only to about head height so you can engage your biceps to hold your body while you move first your back leg (and grip with the shoe) and then the front. Use your thigh muscles to push your body up!

Just try to get to the top everyday. It took me almost 2 months before I could get to the top of the pole, and then 3 more before I could do any tricks, but if you just keep trying you will get there

When I first tried the pole I could barely climb it either, but after all the rigorous physical exercise, in the next couple of days I'd built up way more strength and could do much more on the pole.
Most strippers are nice enough to teach you the tricks they know, so try asking. When you practice make sure you do it close to the ground!
And, as Bubble mentioned, women's muscles are concentrated in our lower body. Grip with arms, push up with thighs!

That's good advice too. Don't tire yourself out doing it over and over. Just do it once or twice in a day. The first few times you will get the first step fine, and the next will be smaller, and the 3rd will feel like nothing at all. Just keep at it. I can get to the top of an 11ft pole in 3 steps now. When I was learning, everything after that first step-up just felt like it wasn't getting me anywhere. But it is *making the connections* between your muscles and your brain of how to do it without even thinking.

I might add that I cannot climb a stainless pole to save my life! I was raised on chrome!
