Exclamation Oh Gawd, my Feet, please help

I need something that will melt dead skin from the bottom of my feet. Its too thick even to just use the razor against. As a matter of fact, I think they are so calloused from the razor. My heels aren't bad, its the balls of the feet. I'm sure that wearing the same old stinky high heels all day isn't helping either, but they are my favorite. As of today, I throw them away, no butts about it!

What product effectively softens and sloughs off dead skin from the bottom of the feet. Not just a little exfoliation, but the real deal? What can I get at Walgreens, don't have time to order anything or go to an expensive store.....

I'm thinking of using some industrial strength metal stripper, its that bad! Hahaha, I'm just kidding, don't worry.

They were this bad when I danced, but I got pedicures twice a month. Right now, I'm too ashamed to even go to the salon until I've gotten this somewhat manageable.

    Please help!

Might take you awhile, but good old fashioned pumice has always worked for me.

I use that sponge thingie and a pumice stone along with an exfoliating scrub. Might take a bit but it will work. You can also pick up an automated spinning pumice stone at Wal-Mart etc so it's alittle less work for you.

Why don't you give you feet a good scrub, then go for a deep intensive pedicure. Once you've done this it would be easier to maintain soft feet by exfoliating and moisturizing.

Girl, I just got my feet done and this is the BEST product EVER!! My feet felt like freakin silk after the pedicurist was done. I wanted to ask her where she bought this stuff from, but she was guarding it like it was her first born. So I snuck a peek at the bottle and memorized the website. That solution is awesome. My mom got her feet done as well, and she was basically in awe with the softness of her feet, btw, my moms feet are harder than a pumice stone, lmao. So if the product worked on her, it will work wonders for all of us.

I use one of these, it's a razor for calouses. My feet build up pretty quickly and I don't have time to use the pumice every day (got babies) and my husband reeeeaaaally likes me to have soft feet. They take away all of the initial or heavy duty work and it barely takes any scrubbing from a pumice after that. I can get them in the grocery store here but when I was in north america I saw them... I think at walmart, and in pharmacies.

Cheap way to do it that works for me. I got this tip from Roshumba(sp?) the supermodel. hehe.

After showering before going to bed, take a handful of Vaseline and apply them all over your feet. Take seran wrap and cover them completely. Put on some socks, then go to bed. Next day they're easy to buff off the skin.

Also, lemon is good for rough skin. I take half of lemon and squeeze them on my elbows when they look rough. I'm sure that can work on feet too.

    http://www.prolinc.com/tour/calluseliminator/index.htm

This stuff will remove your entire first layer of skin

Avocado works really well for moisturizing feet. Just mush it into a paste, cover your feet in it and rinse. That is, after you get rid of the dead skin. A pumice works fine for me but I have been unable to really do much to my feet for the last month or so. lol - I have to actually pay for a pedi and I never used to!

By the way, those razor things are REALLY unsanitary. Never let anyone put one near your feet in a salon. Lots of places in CA get fined for using them and the reputable ones post signs that they will not use them.

yup, I do this and it works very, very well. Don't be chintzy with the vaseline, you gotta really slather it on.

Another idea, I swear to God I am not making this up, my mom and her friend used to use the power sander on their feet. Power sander as in hubby's Craftsman sander.

Last night I went and bought Sally Hansen's Just Feet Deep Callous Remover, Deep Calous foot scrub, and a good pedi buffer with a knuckle handle so I could really get in there. Then I rubbed massage oil all over them and put them in socks.

It worked pretty well. My heels are super soft and smooth. But the balls of my feet probably need another session. I wonder why they are so scaley in that area? It might have been athletes foot, I suspect I had a touch of it after walking around barefoot in the Bahamas. They were really itching. I used spray on them a few days and it was fine.

That's another reason I don't want to go to the salon, in case its athlete's foot. Is there a way to tell if its out of my system?

I was actually going to suggest the Sallen Hansen stuff. Did you get the one in the blue bottle? They have a "deep" callous remover in the blue bottle and a "thick" callous remover in a white tube. The "deep" works best (I have both lol). I do my own pedicures because I'm cheap. After trying many products, this seems to work the best:

I put Vaseline Intensive Care Moisturizing Bath Beads in my foot spa, it really makes a difference in softening the callouses. Soak for a while, then put some of the deep callous remover on a Mr. Pumi pumice bar (found at sally's for 2 bucks) and then start scrubbin lol. It's easy to scrub too much and make your feet sore, so be careful. I also keep a pumi bar in the shower, and go over my feet lightly each time I shower so I don't have to work so hard when I do the pedicures.

Peeing in the shower prevents athlete's foot. I'm not sure about curing it though.

Katrine, girl I saw this on a commercial recently:

    Olay Thermal Pedicure:

-Heats upon contact with water to relax feet

-Bora Bora white sand, pumice, and micro-crystal formula soothingly polishes away dry skin cells (Mmmmm )...

-Shea butter and moisturizer enhanced formula leaves skin looking soft, smooth, and moisturized.

Shea butter Lady Jade; Mmmmm .

Has anyone tried this yet? This stuff is up for definite review by me. The longer you use it, the better the condition of your skin becomes. And it's made by Olay. I currently use Quench body lotion and would never think of using anything else -

    It's that good.

Also Katrine, you mentioned that your feet have been itchy?

Because dry skin cracks, the fissures can cause itchiness, so if you are using athlete's foot medication on your feet and you do not have athlete's foot, not only could you be disrupting the balance of natural microflora (pH) on your feet and actually cause athlete's foot, but you could be drying out your skin, causing cracking and fissures which make it easier for bacteria and fungus to infect your skin.

    Just lookin' out .

So, I'm trying this out tonight. Got my feet all greased up, put saran wrap on and then some spa socks (super thick) and my dog won't stop licking my feet! She's going nuts trying to get to the vaseline. haha. It was funny/cute at first but now it's kind of annoying, ha.

^I'm exactly the opposite, I MUST have socks on when I sleep. Thick, fluffy ones in the winter and thin, sleek ones in the summer.

Wow, no wonder I've only had it twice in 10 years! Lol....if I peed in my pants all the time, would that prevent yeast infections? Just kidding....

I highly recommend Kerasal. It comes in an ointment and in a cream. I prefer the ointment. When I first started using it, after about the 3rd or 4th day, I got out of the shower and was shocked the dead skin that was just falling off the bottom of my feet on to the towel I stepped on. Like I could literally see foot prints on the towel of dead skin. All I had to do was rub them with the towel and the rest came right off. I havent had a problem with dead skin, callouses, cracked heels, nothing since I started using it and it keeps them super soft and smooth.

I think you'd have to pee INTO your vagina. LOL Actually, I don't think that would work either.
