Default Latex gloves and real nails

I am a microbiologist so I have to wear latex gloves for 8 hours every night at work, and they're wrecking my real nails. I can barely grow them out at all before they peel off in layers, and they are a really nasty yellowish color. Any ideas on keeping them nice?

Maybe wear a clear or lightly tinted top coat?? OPI Nail Envy is the shit for healthy strong natural nails.

I was thinking of polish, but I was thinking it'd just peel off because of all the sweat and moisture inside the gloves. Happens to some of the other girls I work with.

I just want to be able to have decent looking nails for times outside of work, but I don't want to get fake ones.

Neem Nail Oil by Dr. Hauschka. It's expensive (like $40) but it's awesome and lasts a long time. I would just coat your nails with it before you put the gloves on and re-apply throughout the day. Should help.

Thanks for the suggestions! I got some Nail Envy and have been using if for about a half a week. Problem is that anytime my nails get wet it chips off on the tips, which are my weakest parts. However, the nails do seem a bit stronger. At least it seems to be doing something.

I might try using the purple nitrile gloves and see if they make a difference.. I am not sure if it's just the latex doing nasty things, or if it's just all the sweat and moisture in general.
