    Default whippets

As a lot of you know I lost my beloved great dane Zaine 3 months ago. I cannot get another great dane until I move out of home so my option is to get a small breed.

I love whippets! My bf and I went to a pet store yesterday and I held a female whippet who was 9 weeks old and she was the dearest little girl. She was so cuddly and affectionate.

Does anyone here own (or has owned) a whippet?

Are there any websites where the tell you about a dog's temperament etc? I have googled whippets but all that seems to come up is a list of breeders.
I thought maybe there is a website that gives breed profiles or something?

I like to thoroughly research an animal before I take it home. I know everything about great danes but not much about whippets.

You know that gas that's left in the whipped cream cans? If you inhale it, you get a high for a few seconds that destroys your brain cells. It's called Whippets

Hmm..I didnt knwo you could sniff from whipped cream cans. Ive onyl had 1 experience with nitrous oxcide.

When I was 14, my best friend turned 18, and inherited 1.8 million dollars. He had good parties, to say the least.

He managed to get a big, comercial, hospital sized tank of nitrous, and we took turns hitting off the tank.

very dangerous. very very dangerous. One of the peoplE there passed out with their arms arounD the tank, it fell on my toe, broke my toe and left it permantly damaged. And thats probably the LEAST scary thing that can happen.

ok..sorry for the thread jack. I honestly dont know of any whippets dog breed. Never heard of it. I'll stop being unhelpful now.

Im just in a very silly mood....SW is very enertaining tonight. How am I ever gonna make it to work, when this is so much more fun?

The Whippet is intelligent, lively, affectionate, sweet, and docile. This very devoted companion is quiet and calm in the home. This breed should never be roughly trained, for they are extremely sensitive both physically and mentally. Be sure to introduce plenty of variety when training this breed. The best results will be achieved by including games and running but remember, although they are very intelligent and will learn quickly, you will never achieve "perfect" obedience from this breed due to their independent nature. They are good with children of all ages as long as the children do not roughhouse or tease the dog. Whippets are clean, virtually odor free, easy to care for and easy to travel with. They are good watchdogs and may be reserved with strangers. They will pursue and kill cats and other small animals if given the opportunity, but are good with other dogs. Household cats that they are raised with and have become accustom to will be left along. They can be used to hunt. The Whippet's sweet personality makes him a fine companion dog. The Whippet is the ultimate sprinter, unsurpassed by any other breed in its ability to accelerate to top speed and to twist and turn with matchless dexterity. Some can be difficult to housebreak while others housebreak quickly.

Cause I felt bad for jackin your well meaning thread.

They actually sound like a lot of work, but fun.

"WA WA WA WA WA " LOL!!! LMAO!!!

The first thing I thought of was hippie crack too.
I used to do that stuff when I followed the Dead 15 years ago. I used to get so mad when I'd see people doing that shit standing up. Sit down, dumbass, sit down!

    OK, back on track...

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Whippets (the dogs) sound cool!

Yeah there is no way I would touch it anymore. I haven't done it in at least 10 years. It seriously destroys your brain.

I'm so sorry about your friend passing away from this drug use.

    Don't do it people!

There's chemicals in that stuff that's released from empty aerosol cans that can kill you...easily.
