Does your club make sure all of the customers are gone from anywhere around the club before you can leave? Mine does this and it make me feel alot safer. Make sure your phone is always charged too just incase anyone does follow you. Also are there several places to stop along the way if you do get in trouble?

Try taking different routes home each night if possible. When you get close to home, don't go straight into the driveway/parking lot, make a couple passes and see if anything is suspicious.

You could get a taser, if they are legal in your state. I used to have one, but I was always scared someone would just wrestle it away from me then use it on me.

    Here are some tips:
*Always be aware of your surroundings.
*If something seems fishy, it probably is...listen to your instinct.
*If possible to carpool with another dancer, take advantage.
*Always keep your phone fully charged and ready for use.
*Have trustworthy/dependable people on hand in case you need assistance.
*Keep relations on the good side, make no enemies.
*Know who your real friends are.
*Always remain calm (easier said than done, but do your best)
*Make sure your ride is in good reliable mechanical order. (tires, engine, etc)
*Before entering your car at night, make sure nobody is inside. (use the dome light default setting for this)
    *If possible, have a driver.
    Best of luck to you.

Could always drive a fast car... j/k.

In all seriousness, just be aware and alert of your surroundings. I am afraid to carry a taser/mace due to the fact that it could be used on myself, just like any other weapon. If someone is following you, it is best to just call the police. I have a cell phone charger routed to my cigarette lighter in my car so it's always fully charged whenever I am driving.

Make sure that you have AAA in case of car troubles in the middle of the night.

All that, and GAS UP before you go into work. One shady car behind you for too long and/or needing to tank at fuck-o-clock in the morn will make you so glad you did.
