Default Customrs complaining about the bar

Keeping with the ideas of the "Powerful Moneymaker" thread, what do you say when guys bitch about the bar.

We have stead in-and-out traffic on the weeknights. Most guys stay for about half an hour to ah hour, have a couple of drinks, a dance or two, and then leave. IT is a large bar. Consequently, the place never looks full. At least 3 or 4 times a night, some asshat saws to me, "Oh, its a slow night, huh?" I get the feeling they are probing around to see if the "slow night" for me translates into extras time/special treatment/discount dances for them.

How do I say something positive and money-affirming, while not offending them? I sometimes used to say "That means I have more time for you!" but that just got me a bunch of idiots who wanted to buy me drinks and not dances.

sometimes it's best to agree.. i mean you want to develop repor (sp?) with the custy so agreeing might benefit you. im not talking like, this bar sucks, but nodding and saying something that you are annoyed with (make it something small so you dont lose the positivity). I mean, if someone is complaining, and that's what they wanna do, you are not gonna be able to make them be positive. plus developing that kind of repor(t? you knwo what i mean lol) is a good thing- you aren't making money from the bar but from the custy so.. that's my take.

    Love it!

It's about turning into something positive. "Yeah, the bar is a little slow tonight and I actually like it like that because I'm not so rushed when I do dances." etc...

I agree with DW, I normally say, Our club doesn't get busy until late, but I love working when the music is low enough that I can have conversations and its not really smokey.

I always reply the same way and say that I much prefer it over those crazy Friday nights at 1 am when the place is jam-packed with a bunch of young men -- in fact, I ONLY like working (whatever night it currently is) because the mood is so much nicer and laid back.

Everyone's responses have been great! I'll usually agree with them when they say it's slow but what I'll say is "Yes, it's a little slow right now but it'll get really busy tonight, it always does!" Sometimes I think customers like it rather busy just like when we go out to a bar or a club, it always seems more fun when the place is busy, even though you don't know the other people that are in there, it just seems more fun and like a party when the place is busy versus really dead.

If it's a circumstance where the customer is complaining that it's too slow just tell them that it'll get really busy before too long and you're glad they came early so you two can spend time together. Something along those lines. If it's a customer who just wants to bitch and isn't happy with whatever you say, sometimes there's nothing you can do about it, sometimes they want to bitch just to bitch or because they had a bad day or because they're one of those people who always bitch about something and one of those people that nobody can please.

ive noticed that when a customer says that to me and i reply with something like, "yeah its ok though because im doing well, hey i always do well" .. when i agree with them they are usually less likley to get a dance. Acting postive and busy always seems to get me more dances. Its like when im desperate for a dance they can smell it or something lol!

I agree and play it like 'isn't it nice, we don't have to scream at each other to talk. I love a more relaxed/intimate atmosphere, don't you?' And it's TRUE, the busy times gimme a headache and intimidate me lol

Oh, that's perfect! It is totally me. I thought I was the only one intimidated by big crowds. I think they are confusing and they freak me out.

Hey, Lio. Good to see you again. No, it's the Playpen. I heard the bomb burned down.

Well there was a fire, the owner Don set it to collect on insurance. He did this shortly after the ATM "mysteriously" disappered. The place is open now but no one is happy who works there. So I'm trying new places and I came back to this website to get some advice. Last weekend I went to a place in Somonauk called High Heels. Anyway I'll find out where the Playpen is at, if it's not too far away you'll be seeing me there soon. I just wanted to thank-you for letting me know about Stripper Web, its been very helpful with a lot of things.

I've asked this few times, and I can tell you in no way did i care if it was a slow night for you, or how much money you made. In all honesty, i couldn't care less.

In all cases it was a conversation filler (starter),
    or
I was wondering if it was going to be this dead for the rest of the night (in which case i'd go somewhere else, where there is more people and more fun to be had).
