    Other interesting persuits

I'm into metaphysics, is anyone else a healer, does Reiki, into astrology, crystals, etc...?

I believe in some metaphysical stuff. I also think astrology has some validity. But I think crystals are bullshit.

Yes, keen interest in all of the above and a whole lot more, though not a healer as such (-:

This is the article that made me lose faith.
The whole straightdope.com site is pretty awesome, kinda like snopes.com

Yeah, I still think crystals have some merit.
Just not the super-powers that some attribute to them.
And I guess I should be more clear about the article. I took most of the the crystal stuff I heard as fact until l came across this. It isn't a great article, nor is it in-depth enough to really address the topic, but it did inspire me to research further. What I found made me second guess what I'd heard before about crystals.

i have done a lot of energy work, in a lesser known techniques such as Alexander technique, as well as some reiki.. while i dont practice now, i can feel the energy when im being healed with acupuncture and such- just had a conversation today about the energy i was feeling thru a needle, my acupuncturist said the needle was vibrating like crazy too.

i also dont believe in crystals but i think astrology has a lot of merit. so much so that i wont date certain signs.

    Love it!

^^^ I can't believe how much predictions about certain signs dating are accurate. For some reason, I really like the ones on www.elle.com. They're very in depth.

Others, let me know what you think.

i've always used astrology.com, but im digging elle. thanks!
and yea, the sign matchups are usually right i find for me, im a gemini and my ex was a cancer.. soooo bad for me. and two gems, oyyy bad news bears. my current bf is a libra and a good match for me, speaking astrologically. (he's good all around but i was specifically speaking astro.)

    Love it!

Yeah some people do go a little overboard IMO with crystals, but if you try dowsing over them you can pick up their different energy fields. Theyre even different before and after cleansing.

I also love astrology although I dont know nearly enough about it. Palmistry really interests me though and I find it amazing that you can often tell a persons star sign by their hands!

I LOVE The Alexander Technique. I used to go to a practitioner locally, but there are none anymore. I do regular Chiropractic though.

I am just starting on a programme called Body Electronics which IMO is mind blowing. Its going to be an interesting journey anyway! (-:

Edited to add - I like that ellie page!

Ha, I feel you on the gemini/cancer match-ups. I'm cancer and the guy I just broke up with (tear) was gemini. I still love him, but hey, the stars don't lie it seems, we're not compatible.
Good thing that mix works as friends!

if you liked the elle astrology, youll love tarot.com they can find out your rising signs and moon signs for free, but for some of their more in-depth services you do have to pay for (but the site is great without that!)

I like Tarot and also enjoy astrology. I don't take either super serious but instead use them to enhance my days by getting me to look beyond the obvious in life.

Yes, I'm a medium, it's kind of heavy in a bar full of people with lots of energy and information swirling around in the ethers...

    I do tarot for fun...

But for some reason I've always been able to predict death. I don't know how.. or why... but I can.. and have.

I was responding to Chrissy, not you. Chrissy is very intelligent and not a nutjob. You, on the other hand, seem to have serious reading comprehension issues in nearly every thread you create or post in.

I'm highly sceptical unless I've had direct experience with something...
I've read tarot since I was about 10 and started reiki about 4 years ago.
For some reason I've found myself not wanting to, or not being able to, practice either for about the last year...I just feel kind of disconnected, like I wouldnt be able to do it...

O I love the straight dope! I count myself lucky that my dad always had Cecil's books around... crazy that I was reading that stuff when I was 10 years old. Still follow him now and I even lurk on their message boards.
