    Default Makeup for photoshoot help

So I'm doing a photoshoot on Saturday, and a friend (who is in makeup artistry school) is doing my makeup. I'm know she's perfectly competent, I've seen her work, but extra opinions never hurt anyone. So, does anyone have any tips for photoshoot makeup?

I'm going for the mondo porn-star look. So smokey eyes, glossy pink lips...what else? I want to try to look as far from 'girl next door Scarlett' as possible. Which will be hard, because that's exactly what I look like.

    Thank you!

ETA: colour photography, indoors, studio lighting.

Here's an example from 2 years ago...I pretty much want the same thing again, but porn-ier, and better hair.

Thanks. I don't actually look like that, at all...it's the magic of makeup! But see, I'm not going to have the same makeup artist, so I need to know HOW that was done!

I think you should just put it in your friends hands. Is there a particular theme for the shoot? How creative are your, or your MUA willing to get? When I was modeling I didn't like the neutral makeup. I wanted my eyes, lips to pop!

Yeah, but I'm a control freak....

I need one look to last through many theme changes. I organized this shoot to get myself promo to last me for a couple of years, so I'll be changing a good 6-10 times, and am hoping for minimal adjustments to my makeup.

No, go for more than one look that stretches your versatility. For minimal adjustments, just have them remove the eyemakeup, and use different colors each time.

One thing I've changed about the way I do smokey eyes is instead of JUST black at the bottom of the lifs, then grey, then a bit of white at the brows... I put on a very light layer of a bronzer on my lids, not the whole thing, just up to a lil above the crease in the lid.... then I put on the smokey colors. It warms it up enough to make it more sexy and less stark. It's a lil dark in this image, but this is the shade of bronzer I use. I put it on about half as dark as that. That's how I did it in this and this pic. I also layer mascara, since I don't like the fake lashes look on me. Two kinds, the second has to have a very soft brush to help spread lashes.

I know I've told you before Scarlett but you are just gorgeous!!!!

Maybe the week or a couple of days before get together with your friend and do a few experimental make up jobs and compare them. Then the ones you like the most remember what was used and recreate them for the shoot. Kind of like a dress rehersal. (sp?)

I also agree to go for a couple of different looks with the make up...then it gives you some variety for your promo that you can tailor to the clubs you dance at.

No matter what you choose for make up I know you will look so delicious in your photos men will want to lick them walking into the club!!!
Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved."

    You are fucking hot, Scarlett!

Whatever you do, make sure whatever she puts on your face does not have SPF in it. The SPF will bounce back the flash on the camera and make you look pale. If some of you have ever wondered why you looked pale in your photos, it may be b/c of your foundation/powder with SPF. I'm sure your MA will know what to do as far as smokey eyes and pink lips. You may want to cruise around on for some inspiration. Maybe even make a post saying you have a photo shoot and want to be sure the MA does a good job. They have an industry section on there where MA's give really good advice. Oh, and here's a link to another forum for makeup artists and models. You should find a lot of info on here:

Good luck, can't wait to see pics!!

Remember becuase of the lighting you have to go a bit darker than you would normally for it to show up as well. Also, lots and lots of powder during the shoot, keeps any shininess away. Random tips...
