    Very f-ing painful!
Crazy "bright light headaches' with a very spaced out feeling. its hard to describe and it was also over 20 years ago now... I remeber not being able to move my neck properly to make my head nod up and down when the Dr asked me to.

I had bacterial mennengitis when I was 13. I was taken to hospital pretty quickly though and as soon as I got there I started to feel better - especially after they drained fluid from my spine. By the next day I felt pretty normal but i had to stay in hospital for a few more days to make sure.

Shit, I hope he is ok! At least he's in the right place and comfortable, thats a good sign that he'll be ok.

i dont know enough abotu this.. i thoguth you could get it from being around him? if that's the case i hope you have gotten tested and vaccinated; in fact all college kids should be vaccinated, i believe it's free at most college health centers.

    Love it!

The hospital is freekin nuts now hes home and they apperently dont have the lab results for the viral in yet, no one else in the house is sick which i find strange also, I think he probably just had a really bad flu that included body aches and muscle stiffness cause here we are 4 days later and no one has the results yet on the viral culture.......anyone know why the would perscribe antibiots for a viral infection when i looked up the meds they perscribed him it says they are for bacterial infections but yet they said hes cleared for the bacterial infection as in he doesnt have it viral just runs its course.. By the way he appears perfectly healthy flippin WEIRD

No one else i knew got it either or had to be treated. Drs give antibiotics for viral infections all the time, its just one of those things. Reason vary from Drs wanting tokeep patients happy cos apparently many people feel duped if they see a Dr and leave without being given some form of medication - to precaution "incase" theres a secondary bacterical infection lurking around. Ask if your worried though!
I hope your mans on the mend now anyway, it must have been scarey!

I'm glad he didnt have meningitis...My old highschool principle's daughter went deaf because of it. It can cause some bad things if it goes untreated!
