    Wigs!

Hahaha I totally want to buzz my hair off and wear wigs

The thing about me is I really hate dyed, damaged hair which is what I have. And I hate hate hate the colour and instead of spending hundreds to get it properly stripped out as I had planned (plus, at this point, I think my hair might just melt off...), I'm thinking I should just invest that money in nice, long fake hair until my real locks catch up.

So I want to start over. It'll take 2 years, but I don't think I could handle carting around my scraggly dyed ends for very long either.

I want to get a really long brown human hair one.

Has anyone buzzed their hair off and let it grow back under a wig? I hear sometimes this could damage the hair because it is smushed down all the time.

I don't really care if it looks a bit...wiggy. Haha I sort of dress all glammy/draggy anyway, so I don't care. I want to to be fairly realistic, but I'm not going to freak if it looks a little off.

    Advice, fellow wig wearers?

I wear wigs and no I have not experienced any damage. I pull my hair back and put a mesh cap over it. then I apply my wig and voila! Instant Diva!! I've never worn a wiggy looking wig. I shop around and the wigs I buy aren't usually extremely expensive either. If you find a wig that you like, take it to a professional hairdresser and have her customize it by cutting it to actually fit you. That way, it looks more like a piece of you.

One of the better hustlers I've ever worked with wears wigs. They're very obviously wigs, but she doesn't seem to experience and ill effects from it.

I want to use wigs too. I can't go bald, because it wouldn't suit me and I have a bumpy head anyways, but I'd sooooooo like to have a blonde wig for work. I want to be a blonde stripper, but don't want to damage my hair.

I just cut all mine off last week.

I have about 2 cm of hair on my head right now- when I get a chance I'll have someone trim it all down to the same length. When your hair starts to get long just get a tight wig cap, or use some gel to lay it flat or get someone to braid it down for you. Just take the wig off periodically and do whatever shampoo/conditioning you usually do as it grows.

i dont know if you do pole work or any energetic dancing but with a bald head its a lot harder to keep your wig on. i wear wigs at work fairly often and i a big pole dancer so i pin the crap out of it so its stays in place. nothing sucks more than having your wig fly off mid set. mildly embarrassing to say the least. if you do shave your head and do the wig thing, head scarves will be your best friend. tie them around the wig like a headband and it should stay on. i would recommend not shaving your head though. let it grow out under the wig (it wont damage it) so you still have something to pin the wig too.

also go to a good wig store and look for wigs that have natural looking scalps. theyll look more real. bangs can help wigs look more natural even if its really long side swept bangs and dont be afraid to wet down, hairspray and style your wig till it looks right. the more you wear it and let it get sweaty the more natural it will end up looking. for some reason sweating in it and breaking it in makes its fit to your head better.... okay im done now.

Oh, I thought buzzing your head made the wig stick to it like velcro. Maybe I'll just wait for my head to grow 1 inch of virgin hair before hacking it off...

When you say natural scalp, do you mean the skin-top ones? The store I'm going to uses mostly skin tops I think. I don't know, I heard they were "flesh toned" and my skin is darker soo...I doubt they'd look realistic...

I'm not a very energetic pole work type of dancer, so I think it'll be fine. My hair looks pretty crappy now, so I'm willing to risk the fly off for an improvement.

I'm going to the wig store tomorrow. I hope I find something kickass

I want to get a super long wig like to my waist. If I'm going fake, may as well get my dream hair!

^ Yeah, the bald girl I was referring to says the wigs stick like velcro...If her hair grows out, it gets slippier.

    Haha okay SO...

I went to the best wig store in town. Talk about false reputations! They had lots of human hair wigs, but the quality was so poor! And the salespeople did not help me at all.

So I went to this smaller place next door and got lots of help. They were really great with helping me put things on and so on. Except they forgot to give me wig caps

Ironically, the most realistic wig I found was synthetic. The human ones just seemed all...tattered and they hanged wrong. It's long and brown and has bangs, which I didn't like, but hey..I got it for 80$.

I really, really like it. And it truly does look like my old hair, but better! It lays flat at the crown which is awesome.

I am so excited. I want to go back tomorrow and buy the same wig in a few different shades.

    yay wigs!
