    Default Thee cheers!

So I've been having a fruitless time trying to find a research assistant position. However, today, I called a professor that I'd e-mailed before and hadn't heard back from. He asked if he'd sent me an application, and when I said he hadn't, said that it must have slipped through the cracks and that I should e-mail him again so he can send me one! It would be a volunteer position, which means I'd be volunteering, working, and working, but I really, really want to work with this professor, and hopefully it will lead to a paid position later. Cross your fingers for me!

Thankee ladies! It's research on couples counseling, kinda. The professor is developing this procedure called the marriage check-up, which is couples meeting briefly with a therapist before big problems crop up in the relationship, hopefully avoiding the big problems and need for marital therapy later. I think it's just so exciting - it's precisely the kind of research I want to do! I'm going to make couples counseling better someday - I so am! Squeeeeeee!
Ahem. So, yes, that's what the research is on, I think it has the potential to be, um, fascinating, and, er, really beneficial in the long run to the general populace. God, I'm such a dork.
