    Default surgery in mexico

    Hi ladies!

I really want to get a labiaplasty(a reduction of the labia lips) but the doctors that I have spoken to have quoted me prices that I think are waay too much for just removing some extra skin. One of the doctors quoted me 5500 dollars for the procedure. I mean If i wanted to spend that much i might as well get a BA for the same price!

SO my question is ladies, has anyone ever gone out of the country to get a procedure for a lower price? And if so, does anyone know of a really good doctor(s) who do this procedure?

I know it has been brought up before, I'd try the search button. Just be careful and pick carefully, I've heard of surgeries going well in Mexico, and going terribly wrong, but to be fair that can be said for any part of the world. Do your research, and please don't base the choice mainly on price, go with the best doctor, best portfolio, check references, etc. It might seem expensive, but the extra money will be worth it for a great job.

Yikes! If you went to a decent doctor in another country, I don't think it would be THAT much cheaper... especially figuring in travel costs? (I don't know how close you are to the Mexican boarder anyways?) Plus, if something goes wrong... you could be totally screwed if they decide "screw you, I'm not going to fix it". I'd suggest waiting and saving up the extra two thousand or so.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

I have heard too many horror stories of cheap plastic surgeries in Mexico. Everything from non-licensed doc's to not using sterile equipment. This all equals to an extremly bad infection and deformities. Its simply not worth the risk to save a few bucks. I'd HIGHLY recomend that you stay in the US and pay the asking price of a board certified surgeon.

I think $5500 is pretty standard for any cosmetic surgery in general. When you figure anesthesia costs, facility fees and surgeon's fees all go into the price, they add up quick no matter what you are doing.

With something as delicate as a labiaplasty, I'd be damn sure I went to a good surgeon, no matter what the cost. There are a ton of nerves and blood vessels that could be jeopardized by someone who doesn't know exactly what they are doing.
