So, last night, we had nothing better to do so we went to the local watering hole where they have Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. I only go for the bartender who seems to think the her tips will be in direct proportion to the amount of cleavage she shows. (I have done Nothing to reinforce this notion.) (Ok, that's a lie.) But I digress...
There is an awesome guy on Saturday night named Mark the Shark. But on Friday, the guy, Bob,...well he isn't as good. So no one goes on Friday and no one sings. So Gen sang 5 songs.
1. Baby got back, Sir Mix-a-lot. - a classic. I've been doing this one for years.
2. Istanbul (Not Constantinople), They Might Be Giants - the wife requested it. the wife is weird.
3. Maneater, Hall and Oates. - Another request. I didn't think I knew it but I must have heard it 5000 or so times as a youth because I acquitted myself well.
4. You can call me Al, Paul Simon - Truly a moving song. It popped into my head as Bob searched for my signature song (Bad Touch, Bloodhound Gang) and could not locate it, so I did this instead. (I mentioned that Bob was bad, right?)
5. Give it Away, Red Hot Chili Peppers - Gen had 8 Sugar Free Red Bulls and Grey Gooses. And when you are tipping a small time bartender like she is a dancer...well, there wasn't THAT much red bull...This is a great song to do when you are drunk...especially if you can summon some real or feigned anger to go with it.
Anyway, as I was sitting there, massively intoxicated, I wondered if anyone ever talked about this on The Lounge. I mean, everything here has been done. twice. So I jotted down my "set list" and did an "Advanced Search" and here it is...my very on post on the Lounge. Not that I posted on the pink side. After all, I don't read the pink side. Nope. Not AT all.
