BTW, Im making hoops as the red hoop (minus the contact) as I dont like the irrigation hosing personally and because I dont think I want to sell an inferior product although IMO they are a good enough hoop to hoop with, its just that I love my other hoops so much more.

The Rasta one is the only one I made in that weight (the first hoop I made!) - my guess was that it was the same as your hoop to be honest because of the materials used. I shall continue to scrutinise every piece of piping I can find in shops then for the time being if you really think theres a difference (-:

Since it comes in 20metre lengths though I had a play around with it to see what could be done to improve it, hence the heavier version. These hoops were also great for messing around with taping.
However Im not totally given up on them as for multi-hooping irrigation hosing hoops may be the go because the weight of several of my other ones is possibly too much. I dont know for sure yet because I dont multi hoop either but that was my first thought when I went to pick up a bunch of hoops to move them the other day

The red hoop is hard plastic. As far as Im aware you cant get less flexable unless you make a larger hoop with something else. I dont class it as flexable at all so maybe we have differing opinions on what flexable is? The noise is the filler - sorry I forget to mention, the first few hoops I made are a bit rattley.
I hate the contact noise too. Ive stopped using it for the time being as its really not an ideal alternative to the tape and is awkward to apply and takes ages!
Thanks for the feedback anyway and update later if you feel like it.

I dunno. The piping still seems rather more flexible and pliable than my hoops I already have...

The "rasti" one as I call it (and you referred to) which is the lightest of the three you gave me is way too light. It is rather hard to work with "on the body". Off the body movements it is a pleasure to work with tho' as it is so easy to maneaour and doesn't hurt the hand. My only concern is whether it will get bent out of shape easier since it is so light etc. We'll see I guess....

The other two worked out wonderfully in the end. It was all of a matter of giving them a proper "whirl" as such. It must be because the piping you are using is more pliable/flexible or whatever that it doesn't hurt so much to use them on or off the body.

Just FYI, the red one I chose is rather noisy to use.. and it isn't just the red decorative contact or whatever you used that makes it noisy to use... something in the hoop itself moving .. I dunno what.. just that I call it the noisy one.

It will be interesting to see how it goes if I use one of the ones you gave me and one my ones at the same time... yet i havn't gotten to the multiple hoop stage yet. I just want to 'dominate' all the moves on the HoopGirl DVD before I even think about adding a second hoop (or any more).

The hoop doesnt need to be up to your belly button but a larger hoop is easier.
Ive noticed alot of people are using smaller hoops about the size you buy in toy shops. The store bought hoops are often too light to hoop with though.

The inside diametre of my standard hoops is 36inches.

I agree that the Hoopgirl DVD is worth buying. Stand by for some appalling outfits though A class or tuition would be better though if you can find one close by or other hoopers!

Youtube has some good clips too, this is my favorite!

Oh you just rock Pamela (-: I do 2 together around my waist and I just cannot get them to seperate. I would to say I suck at spinning 7 hoops!

They remind me of candy too, I really enjoy that for some reason and I dont even like candy. The whole thing just pleases me I supose

I used to try about 7 of them at once, with a couple around the neck and all down the body...great workout! And sexy if done right i bet.

But damn i sucked at 7 of them. I can only do 2 at a time. Fun!

Brings back memories. My daughter has 1 in her room i may pull out tomorrow now.
