    Default Nervous sweating

This has happened to me off and on since i began dancing...It will go away for a while, and then come back...

It's when I start a shift, just for the first hour or so, sometimes even less, my armpits get very damp. It's definitely from nerves. It's my go-to nervous response to many things in life. I've tried applying spray-on deodorant, with the rub-on stuff on top of that...applying antiperspirant several times a day...but all that just gives me a rash. It's really inconvenient and embarrasing to have to surreptiously wipe my armpits before giving a guy a dance. So lame. So not hot.

I hate to doom my first couple lapdances by awkwardly trying to hide the sweating too...

So since I really don't think the physiological stuff helps (the itchy rashes aren't useful either), how can I deal with this psychologically? I don't drink at work, but when I did, a shot or two would kill the nerves. I always work myself out of it too...and it seems to happen more often when I start during a dayshift, for some reason. Rarely does it happen when I start after nine pm.

Are there any mind tricks I could use to stop this silliness? I'm not afraid of dancing! I go right to it when I get there. Maybe I'm afraid of people...I don't know. This is damned annoying. Any suggestions? thanks!

Sweat is good, it releases phermones. I just put on lots of super-strong deodarant and kept wet wipes near. But let it sweat baby!

I sweat like crazy too from nerves. Even when I can logically tell myself that there is absolutely no reason to be nervous. I even get these stupid little beads of sweat on my nose --- NOT sexy at all! Boo.

I've talked to my doc about sweating too much, and basically she told me there's not a whole lot you can do besides more drastic procedures like botox and whatnot. And insurance generally doesn't cover that sort of thing.

So I think, in this situation, it all boils down to psychological control. I find when I'm in this sort of situation, it helps to acknowledge to myself how I'm feeling (nervous, scared, whatever), think about why I'm feeling that way, and then tell myself why I shouldn't be feeling that way. Just work on physically and mentally relaxing.

I sweat a whole lot from nervousness too. I use this deoderant called Certain-Dri that you put on before bed every night and it really helps! you can get it at most drugstores i think.

This happens to me for the first hour or so every time I work too. It doesnt matter if its hot out or freezing. I put deoderant on like 3 times before I go in. I sometimes wonder if its because I take a shower like an hour before I go in and I take energy pills when I eat dinner before I go in. Its embarasing because if Iam sitting on a guys lap my armpits will literally start to drip and my legs sweat in the back of the knees too. I dont think its nerves though as I have been dancing forever. Like bella said try thr certain dry. I just bought it and I forget to put it on sometimes since you have to do it before bed, but its supposed to help control sweating. You still have to put on deoderant as well though. Yeah if anyone knows of a good antipersprant chime in.

I have used Certain-Dri and also Drysol which is another super strength antiperspirant. In Canada these are usually kept behind the counter in drug stores so you have to ask specefically for them. I found that they both worked really well (I like Drysol more because it has a blotter-type applicator there is less excess) using it at night and then wearing regular deodorant during the day.

I got some Drysol today. The pharmacist assured me it would help. Thanks for the advice!

Awesome. I absolutely love it and since I have used it regularly now I only have to do every other night. I hope it helps!

secret just came out w/ some prescription-strength deo .. maybe u could try that? i use Degree. It's supposed to 'work with your body' or something to that effect, but i like it and i like the 'little black dress approved'-ness of it!

About that Secret stuff .. here's where u can get a free sample, and I think there's a link to the Secret homepage where u can read more about it. Good luck!

Wow! I needed to update- DRYSOL is AWSOME. It works on my feet and palms too. Nervous sweating begone! I wish I found this stuff years ago. It's delightfully effective, and it doesn't give me itching/ rashes like the usual super-strength antiperspirants (like Secret).

So if anyone gets the sweats in future, try this stuff- it's amazing.
