How is it working for you? I know there was a thread going about a month ago but I wanted to see what kind of success everyone has had after a month.

I started mine this morning and I'm hoping it works since insurance doesn't cover it and it's so darn expensive! My doc said that it should start working pretty much immediately and that the smell of cigs will start to make me sick. How are you around other smokers and the smell of smoke?

I really need to quit smoking, my lungs and bronchial tube are BEGGING me!

I took chantix, but did not make it through the entire perscription. the stuff gave me intense nightmares!!! I found that the drug definately took the edge off of my painful cravings, but after two weeks on the stuff, I felt ready to go out on my own. I have been quit since April. One thing that helped me immensely, was picking up a copy of "the easy methood to quitting smoking", by alan carr. This book, for whatever reason, really spoke to me and helped me every step of the way to beating the addiction. the author is an ex-smoker, and had a way of realting to me that no one else could hold a candle to.

By the way, in my experience, cigarettes never started to "smell bad". In fact, I still like the smell of them! Weird, I know. I wish you the best of luck. You can do it!

My mother quit smoking using chantix in 2 weeks. She smoked for 25 years. (I'm so proud of her!)
She said that she had no side effects, minus very vivid dreams, but said that it was worth it.

I think its woth a shot to quit! You never know how your body will react :~)

    Best of luck.
