I am adding protine to my diet becuse i am trying to build lean musle mass and changed my brekfest from kashi and a banna to an eggwhite omlet with fat free cheese in it and strawberries on the side. I eat south beach diet foods alot i like them. When you are looking at protien powders make sure you watch the cals in and measure you juice so you know exactly what you are taken in aslo make sure the juice you pick is 100% juice and read the the sugar content. good luck. Honelty i have not noticed a decresse in appiate maybe becuse I am pms'ing though also i snack on alomds just natrul ones with no crap on them.
it doesnt work for me.

I heard eating oatmeal makes u less hungry bc it fills ur stomach and 'lasts' for awhile...but idk .. I don't eat oatmeal that often.
Low-carb/High-protein diets make me even hungrier. I tried to do the South Beach Diet and was ravenous the whole time. I would eat and be hungry again in half an hour because I wasn't getting any fiber. I think it's a blood type thing though; everyone I know with O type (the most common) does great on high protein, but I'm an A and it fucks me up.
Protien does keep you feeling full longer, but so does fiber. I drink a protien shake every morning and add some fiber in. You should really aim for 25-35 grams of fiber per day. It will definatly keep you from getting hungry.

Protien will make you feel fuller faster, but not nessessarily longer. White fish is an excellant source considering your options. Also having oatmeal for breakfast definately helps curb your appetite during the day. Salmon is another great fish as well.
One solution is to buy lean meats. Cottage cheese also has a ton of protein with not a lot of fat. Seafood is an excellent source of protein and essential fatty acids, particularly tuna and salmon. You can buy fat-free milk.
Really, all protein-related foods and supplements have SOME fat, and your daily diet should contain a proportion of fat as well. As long as you monitor your total consumed fat grams for the day, you should be fine. A typical healthy ratio would be 40% carbs/30% protein/30% fat, or for a lower-carb solution, 40% protein/40% carb/20% fat.
Remember that a gram of fat has 9 calories, a gram of carbs has 4 calories and a gram of protein has 4 calories. So let's say you eat 1600 calories a day, then you should have 160g carbs, 120g protein and 53g fat for the first ratio. Check your labels and as long as you're falling within those ranges, you're fine.

the reason protein makes you feel less hungry is because it doesn't spike insulin and cause a blood sugar crash like certain of the carb family.
it takes much longer to trigger the 'hunger' signal when you eat protein.
often the high protein/low carb thing doesn't work for people because they're taking in carbs from sources they didn't realise contained carbs.

I drink a soy Protein shake for breakfast .........especially when I'm dieting. Also lots and lots and lots of Salmon.

I find protein foods very filling.
