    are gold bars still a good buy? Where can I get more information on them? Also, how would you sell them later on?

    in general, when the purchasing power of the US dollar goes down, gold goes up.

    You can buy and sell online at , or at http:.. at lower prices but in larger quantities.

    I'm skeptical on gold at the moment. Sure it will hold up against the USD but then just about anything that's not USD will hold up against USD right now. It's not the worst investment ever, but in the short to medium term I can't foresee anything more than 5% appreciation per annum against EUR or AUD. Good thing is they're easy to hide and the IRS shouldn't need to know about it.

    Well here's a 40 year price chart. Very much up since 2001.
