    Default scary movie lovers

i know there are some horror movie buffs out there so i'm interested to hear if any of you have opinions on this

the original halloween is my all time favorite scary movie. i haven't decided yet how i feel about rob zombie remaking it, it's supposed to be not just a remake but adding in some extra stuff.

anybody have any thoughts about it? it doesnt come out til august but i was looking it up online and now im curious.

I can't even think about this.

How can he even begin to recapture the original intent of that movie? It was never meant to be as big as it was. It was supposed to just be a "B" movie.

Now Rob Zombie is going to come along and add all these Hollywood effects and ruin it. The younger buffs should know about the original, but to them it'll pale compared to the newer version.

They did this to my beloved Leatherface and now Michael Myers. I'll be damned if anyone screws with my Jason, though!!!!!

Personally, I prefer the original movies to anything else. I LOVE Halloween, House on Haunted Hill, etc .. I don't even want to see remakes cuz I'm too stubborn! The originals have that ghost-story-antiquey feel to them that makes them even scarier!! I just crave that adrenaline rush in a horror film!

But I do like new original horror flicks!!

I like new originals too. But I just think that certain things are lost in remakes. Things that were a product of the times.

For example, those late 60's early 70's movies like Last House On The Left, Chainsaw Massacre etc. were a direct result of the violence of world events like the Vietnam War going on around them.

You can't recapture the feeling going on at that time and it's a discredit to the original writers and directors to take these movies so out of context.

I'd be interested to hear what Paige has to say about this one.

Yeah, like knocking down the Eiffel Tower and starting over...

Eiffel Tower's probably not a great example .. think of something FABULOUS and IRREPLACEABLE and substitute that for ^Eiffel Tower^, and that makes for one hell of a post from me!

I'll see it, but I'll most likely hate it. Don't fuck with the classics, man.

Although, Halloween had already been butchered with all those rubbish new ones like H20 and wasn't there some ridiculous space one?
