    And Now For Something Different....

Yay, good news. I made a deal with R that I could go dance if I also got a day job. This way we both get what we want; he feels like I'm making an effort to work on my job history, and I get to dance like I want to. Well today I went to a temp agency and got a job! Apparently I'm working an assembly job at some really good company here where I live. It's not much, just $7/hour, but it's something I can build a work history with. So yet again I have to push back dancing because this weekend I am booked solid with stuff to do, so I'll have to wait till next Friday night hopefully to start after work.

    *happy dance*

This is absolutely not meant to be rude, just a genuine question. I know you have said in other threads that you've been having health issues and wouldn't be able to handle dancing (and i thought you said a regular job too, though I could be wrong). How are you going to be able to handle both? Like I said, not trying to be rude, just kinda concerned for you, don't want you to overdo it and end up worse off
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

Is R one of your parents?

You make it sound as if you need his permission to live your life. I hope that's not the case.

Two jobs could really take its toll.

Congrats although I think its a crazy compromise!
I agree that no one should be telling you what you can and cant do but anyway, good on you for getting not one but two jobs (-:

People, people.... if I wanted a dissection of my compromise, I would ask. However, I was a very willing party in this compromise. Marriage is full of them. My marriage is more important than any job. So "I" suggested this compromise, not R, not my parents, ME. R was very happy about it, but I made the suggestion. I want to build my work history so that when I go to school and then try to get a job in my field, I will have some kind of work history on my resume that proves I am reliable and responsible. Unfortunately, stripping doesn't pull that off so well.

So please, I see you're all worried about me, but it's really unjustified. R is not the evil husband trying to control me. He doesn't care anymore if I strip or not. Just because he's HAPPY about this compromise does not in any way equal him being controlling.

I am a big girl. I am strong. I have gotten this strength by learning about life and all from you guys, and I thank you. I do what the hell I want, but I also respect my marriage. Part of that is making good choices for my future so that both parties in our marriage will be happy, successful, and enriched. If that means stripping is my 2nd job instead of my 1st, then I am willing to make that sacrifice.

Now please, I am REALLY happy right now about what the OP was about. Can y'all just take my word on it and be happy? Thanks.

Employment history IS important, so it's good that you're thinking ahead like that. Stay healthy, don't stress too much, and don't over do it. I'm less concerned about your compromise with R than the nature of the other job... is an assembly job on your feet all the time? I would just worry that you're getting into something very physically taxing.

Have you looked into doing collections with a bank? I have ZERO experience and Chase hired me to do sub-prime mortagage collections with a starting salary of 27k. With no exp Dea got into prime collections at like 24k or something close and from what I hear Bank of America pays more and is also hiring. I'm not sure about BoA but Chase gives full bennies on the first of the month after your hire date, so if you start say monday like me the bennies would kick in may 1st and they are damn good bennies.
Both jobs have weird shifts but still, time to dance can be found.
And Congrats on the whole compromise idea, glad yer happy kiddo.

Congrats CF!! You sound really happy and excited. And I agree, marriage is a much more important commitment and compromises are required to have a happy one.
