    Default schedule c-ez?

Hi, I was hoping one of you knowledgeable ladies could help me figure this out. I'm filing taxes this year for the first time as a dancer and think I did everything right except that I mistakenly used the Schedule C-EZ instead of Schedule C. The C-EZ has no space for me to write down my club name or federal ID number, and they did 1099 me this year. So I'm worried that the IRS will get suspicious when they see the 1099 from the club but no club info on my return, even though the numbers do match up.

I used my friend's H&R Block software, so I will have to wait until I see him again on Sunday to do the taxes over again using a Schedule C... is this necessary, or can I just mail in the C-EZ that I have? I only made a couple thousand, if that makes any difference. Thanks for all advice!

^^^ you're absolutely correct that IRS computers will attempt to match up the SS#, name and address of the 'recipient' of all 1099's with a tax return filed by the same person that lists the sender of the 1099, the amount of income shown on the 1099 etc.

Even if that 1099 is only in the amount of $700, if the IRS computers fail to cross-reference the 'recipient' of the 1099 they will keep churning away and eventually bring the 'recipient' to the attention of higher powers. This could happen if the 'recipient' has failed to file a return. It could also happen if the 'recipient' has in fact shown a return, has in fact listed the 1099 income amount, but has NOT shown enough detail about the 1099 'payer' to allow the IRS computers to determine that it actually corresponds to the 1099.

Quick question--I didn't get a 1099 this year, but I'm pretty sure the club I'm at now does 1099s for credit card transactions...if I've already included the credit card money in my earnings do I just subtract it out at the end of the year?

^^^ I'm assuming that by 'subtract it out' you're referring to that portion of your club income that was reported via 1099 being listed on one line of your tax return, and additional club income that was NOT reported via 1099 being listed on a different line of your tax return. If so, then the answer is yes ... sort of.
