Default Don't want drinks at all

Okay I changed clubs to one much closer to where i live but they have a drink hustle wich is fine and i understand how to work them and I also understand that you can get virgin drinks but the problem is I am on a very strict diet i want to be a figure competior and I am seriouly working on it so i don't want to drink a bunch of sugar and empty cals every nite just to sell drinks I asked the club if i could bring in a bottle of crystal lite for them to serve me but they said no. What can i do in this situation I refuse to drink sugar all nite please help. thanks

I don't drink either and don't like to waste calories on drinks. I almost always order water. Can you get them to pour water in a glass and make it look like vodka on the rocks? Sometimes I order chardonnay that is very watered down too. And then drink only some of it. Or diet coke?

I HATED the fact that my old club wouldnt let you refuse a drink if it was offered- and the waitress always went straight to you when you barely sit with a customer and asks "want to buy the lady a drink?" and majority say "Sure, if she wants" and you cannot say no or else the manager will get pissy. That's after hustling for 6 drinks min.

I used to just order "diet sprite", which was code for water with ice. Diet coke is a good option, too, but it still not as healthy as water. I'd take a few sips and then take the custy in the back and forget my drink at the bar... or talk to him for a couple mins since he did buy a drink, and then excuse myself if he wont buy a dance and take the drink back to the bar and go on my merry way.

Do you think the waitress/bartender/whoever does the drinks can make an exception for you if you tip them a bit? Dont tell management, just give it to the person who serves the drinks... I mean it surely couldnt be that big of a deal, they're still getting their drink money.

Check out - this is a pretty good sized listing of non-alcoholic drinks. Pick one that looks good, then print it and ask the bartender if they're good enough to make it.

Ask for a diet coke or if you want the custy to think you are drinking alcohol with him set something up with all the waitresses and tell them to make your "rum and diet cokes" with just diet coke. Or just order your "regular." I'm underage and I was just at a club where you have to hustle drinks, some of the bartenders knew I always ordered a diet coke and they helped by saying "oh do you want your regular?" Very, very helpful.

I like this idea. And for me, I was just having them put water and cranberry juice in the glass to give the impression I was drinking a vodka cran

Has anyone ever gotten in trouble for this?

In NJ, it's illegal to sell someone a non-alcoholic drink with the pretense that it does indeed contain alcohol. Or do they just say "ladies drinks" and they are all a certain price, regardless of alcoholic content?

I don't know for sure, but where I worked all the ladies drinks were priced at $11.50 whether I ordered a bottle of water, a red bull, a diet coke, or a mixed drink. At CH2 in Philly when y ou go into the vip the customer is required to buy 2 drinks usually one for him one for you...and they are both 10 dollars right Emily or did that change? So I think it would be illegal if the drinks were priced differently but since they are all the same then its not illegal.

Vodka soda w/o the vodka. Soda water with lemon has no calories and you are not drinking fake sugar either. Sometimes you can just wink at the server.

Waitress: "And for the lovely lady?"
    You: "Vodka soda." WINK

Ask in advance if you can do this. That way if one horrible night you really do want that drink...

When I don't want to drink alcohol, I order a 'grapefruit and soda", sounds like a 'drink' but isn't. Mostly soda, so not many calories. If I order a coke or something they tend to not like it, they want me to drink a real drink, and this sounds like one so they usually leave me alone about it.

Some clubs have code words for virgin drinks. I know at Sapphire in Vegas, the code word is Sapphire.
"I'd like a Sapphire cape cod, please"
    (vodka cran, no vodka)
If the guy says, ohh whats that? I say, oh, its our code to make it extra strong

If the club doesn't have a code word, I woudl suggest getting to know your bartenders, and waitress, let them know your unabel to drink, think up your own code word, so when your with a customer, and order a drink with a code name, the waitress and bartender know what you want.

Likewise, if you get to know them, and let them know if you order a vodka soda, you really only want the soda.

If your ordering fake drinks liek this..usually, the bar still charges the guy for the liquor even tho its no there. It may be illegal...but they do it.

Cin, I don't know if you're being sarcastic here or not, lol!!!!

In the off chance you aren't, yeah, in NJ it's clearly written in the ABC handbook. IIRC, it's actually in the section regarding intoxicated persons. You can't serve them alcohol, but you can't serve them a non-alcoholic drink and pretend/charge for an alcoholic drink. You must disclose to them that it is alcohol free.

Also, under the heading Substituting Drinks, it is illegal for a bartender to substitute a drink without informing the paying customer and retaking the order. I.E. He orders Rum and Coke, you're outta rum, you substitute Jack Daniels. Illegal.

IOW, you cannot sell, legally, to a customer anything other than EXACTLY what he ordered without informing him and retaking the order.

^It makes sense since he's paying for an alcholic drink instead of the plain club soda that it really is. Much more expensive.

Couldn't you just say, "no thanks" when a custy offers you a drink? If I've had enough, I'll say that to him when he offers. It doesn't SEEM to affect my money...

At my last club it was a $20 dollar fine on the spot if you got caught doing that. I'm sure its similar at other clubs also..that's how they make their money.

Well, good thing is; you are not responsible for it. The person who made the drink and the owners of the establishment are.

She could serve you that drink, the bar gets busted and you could just say that I "thought" it had alcohol in it.

    *bat eyes*
"Why Officer, you mean this is a...virgin...drink?"
*bat eyes some more and giggle*
    "I had nooo idea!"
*more giggles and maybe a hiccup for good measures*

But seriously, carry on the way you are. It's really just an ethical issue on the dancer's part, because you know that he's being charged a higher price for a plain drink. But, if that's what you have to do to keep your job, then it's not your fault. Gotta take care of you first.
