    Default San Antonio Updates?

So what's happened in SA since they passed that ordinance? Do dancers now have to get licensed Is latex and full bottoms required? I havn't been down in a while and was thinking of visiting the Palace with a girlfriend who is interested in working SA. She lives in San Marcos and would rather work there.

So...any San Antone ladies? Anyone been to the Palace in a while? Is it still the best club in town or are there better options?

Its been a while, since right before they passed the ordinance. I worked at the Palace and always made good money. It was a great club to dance with respectful customers and good staff. The DJ was a bit of an ass, but that's life...

My girl is new to dancing and I think it could be a nice place for her. I am curious about how SA is in general now, and how the latex/bottoms thing is panning out?

I haven't worked in SA with the ordinance, but I visited Wild Zebra and it seemed very dirty.

I've driven by that place and they have some discount dance special EVERY night, from what the billboard read. $5 dances on Fri. or something. Fuck that, the Palace is on the other side of 410 and no dance specials plus its clean.

I live and work in SA and Wild Zebra is pretty much at the bottom of the pond. The best 2 clubs in town, (and I've worked at both) are The Palace and The Mens Club which is where I currently work....both Top Shelf with good Clientele, classy girls, and decent management.

so what's the deal with the rule change? Do you have to be licensed to dance even w/ pasties or what? And how much does a permit cost?

No license/permit is required. Just dance with pasties and full back panties.

I danced at Wild Zebra for a couple of years, but that was three years ago. I went for a visit a few months ago and it has changed. When I was there, I did well and so did other girls. When I just went back the club that had a large crowd of men was Perfect Ten. This was a Tuesday night, and while the club was not full, it was crowded. Zebra, on the other hand, had a best seven or so. However, to be fair, I only visited these clubs that night. Five dollar dances are a desperate move for a management, in my opinion.

I was thinking of dancing in SA this weekend since the city won their case in Houston thus far. Only to find out they're pasties and full bottoms too. Have the customers gotten used to this? Are there still customers spending money? How close can you dance to them?

I used to work in SA back in 98-2000. I've worked at All Stars, Babes, Giorgios, Tiffany's, and River City Cabaret.

At that time you could dance topless.

^The customers are used to this and you can still make decent money, but it's a very high hustle city. Lots of money-hungry-vicious-extras girls to compete with in this town. GGGRRRRRRRR!!! There is a 3 foot rule Texas-wide per TABC, but nobody follows it, and the dancers pretty much do what they are comfortable doing. The money is not as good as Houston, obviously. Personally, I'd go to Austin instead.

There is still a 3 foot rule even though the girls wear bikinis and pasties? That's stupid.

^Per TABC it is a Texas-wide law. But like I said, nobody here follows it.

I never knew the law had to do w/ the TABC..Is that new ??
I remember St.James in Houston had a 6 foot rule because, it was in the county and not officially in the city limits..We never followed it there either..Well once I did after the club was raided and I danced for a custy I was unsure about..
He only got 2 dances..LOL..So much for making $$ w/ the 6 foot rule.

^TABC basically controls all liquor laws in Texas. So for all clubs that sell "their" alcohol they think they can do whatever the fuck they want with these ridiculous "laws" within the clubs. They used to come into my old club all the time just to fuck with management. They would even raid a couple of other clubs right before stopping by ours. When I was a bartender at a nightclub here, when we were finished emptying a bottle of liquor, we would have to scrape the TABC sticker off of the bottle before discarding it. If we didn't, we would get our asses thrown in jail! TABC are fucking pricks!

...sorry, It's a city ordinance law not a TABC 3 foot state wide law.

TABC codes do not regulate SOB's, they regulate the liquor laws as mentioned. Texas cities or counties create their own laws to regulate SOB's. For example, that's why you dont need a dancer license in Dallas but in Houston you do. The TABC Enforcement Division of the Commission can regulate code violations related to alcohol permits/licenses and the Texas Penal Code (such as Chap 21- Sexual Offenses, Chap 43- Public Indecency, Chap 49- Intoxication and Alcoholic Beverage Offense, etc...)

Yeah, I have NEVER heard of this law being state-wide. Here in Austin, cops come into the clubs as well, and no one even stops contact dancing for a second. Now the TABC "scratch the label off the bottle rule" is definately statewide. I've always wondered why they do that. I did get TABC certified a loooooong time ago, but I've forgotten the reason....

Gotcha. That makes sense. This is what the TABC officer told me when he almost rewarded me with a lovely $1,000 fine for the 3 foot rule (state-wide, he said). Assholes.
