That sucks! We have a make-up artist that comes to our club in case, but I rarely wear alot of makeup though. Just eyeliner and mascara.
I hope you get it done ok in time for your show!

I can't do eye make-up worh shit. I just do the basics. You could always buy some "Wild Eyes" contacts. They have a cat eye contact. Then your make-up wouldn't be so hard!

Iv'e been a member on specktra.net and I've learned ALOT about makeup and the application. They even post tutorials. I may not have MAC products to apply, but I have a cheap makeup kit that works just as well, and I get a shitload of compliments still. Try it out!

oh yeah..the cat eyes eyeliner thing..i always do it everyday! jus keep practicing!! somedays illl like REALLY suck at it and i cant make them BOTH even or look the same and ill get so mad!

but most days i can draw them both on and they look even and perfect! but yeah jus keep doing it, and ull find yer own way of doing it!
i just think ya need to keep practicing makeup..cuz i was no good, but i jus kept trying new things, learning from other girls, n reading makeup tips in magazines...and hey, im WAY better now!

anyways i think the hardest thing for me though..is POLE TRICKS! i cant do any! jus the basic spin around thing. its like when i see girls do it, they float like a feather twirling on the pole. for me, i feel like im as heavy as a refrigerator! i guess i jus need to practice too..and buy a pole so i can practice in the comfort and my own privacy haha.

Don't you have a make-up artist at your club to help you with that? It took me years to get the hang of that

Im with you there Cally. I find eye make-up very difficult coz in my everyday life I never really wore any besides mascara. I tried to put fake lashes on the other night - the individual ones and that was a friggin disaster I ended up sticking one on upside down and then pulled them all off in the end.

Talking to no-hope losers and putting up with their crap when in real life, I would not even give them the time of the day.

I wish I would have known this when you were in Calgary. The "cat-eye" was my specialty when I went Blanche McDonald's makeup school in Vancouver. There is definitely a trick to it, but once you have it, you have it. Using the right brushes is the first step. Would have been happy to give you some tips!

it helps me if i use a flat eyeliner brush to draw lines with eyeshadow.

the little flat tipped yellow brush here and especially the angled one next to it would be perfect. i know clinique makes a brush like this as do tarte and mac.

i dip mine in black or coal gray or dark brown eyeshadow and apply it like eyeliner. trace my lid and then with a gentle line following the curve of my lower lid draw it up about halfway to my eyebrow. start another line on the inside of your eyelid and draw through or above the crease and connect it with the first line.

blend and shade as you please and finish with eyeliner and tons of mascara.

not an ultra flattering picture of either of us particularly, but that's me on the left with the brown and gold, and my roommate with the somewhat smudged off bronze and black. you know how parties are. i did both of our makeup the way i explained above, so if you like it give it a try.. i hope this was helpful.

I find strip lashes much easier to apply than individuals. More dramatic too!

    Re: Hardest thing...

I wear my cat eyes every night I'm at work and most of the time when I wear my regular make- up out. You have to pull your lid all the way down with your finger and then slant it back up....like giving yourself major chinky eyes, and then drawing the curve with the liner over the lid up and out. I'm half asian, so it really brings out the half slant that I have...LOL! The guys say I look like Cleopatra...I love it...haven't tried the false eyelashes yet cuz I'm always running late for work...would probably bring them out even more, huh?

Yes I agree. I just recently discovered Specktra, it's very informative.

What exactly are you having a problem with? Symmetry or using the right medium?
I imagine that if it's a matter of getting them the same on both sides, then you should have reference points and measure distances...do one and then measure the lines you used and repeat it on the other side. Like, if you see that the line from the outer corner of your eye extends so a certain curve in your brow bone, then use that as a reference point for the other side. You can measure using your brush and holding your finger at a certain place on the brush handle to create a "distance".
Does this make any sense at all? lol
