Default The Perfect Shoes w/ Jeans

I'm becoming shoe obsessed. I mean, hey they always fit no matter if you gain or lose 10lbs.

Normally I buy cheap shoes and am a huge fan of Footsies, this 3 for $25 crappy shoe store. Right now I'm on the quest to find a sexy, versatile shoe that can spice up the jeans I wear every day. My shoes are all either flat doc martens boots or cheap crap that is falling apart so I'd like to buy one simple, quality pair that I can wear a lot.

I was thinking like a plain black boot with chunky heel or maybe a pair of simple pumps. I can't seem to find such a perfect pair. I guess I'm not too sure what it is I'm looking for. I've always been a fan of comfy shoes (hence my massive doc collection) but I think its time for a change. I feel out of place in my grubby docs sometimes and I think at 5'1" I could use a little help with height

Does anyone have a favorite pair of shoes that they wear with (or even a brand) everything? I'd like to shell out for a sexy pair but I'm not sure where to start or whats the good stuff.

kitten heels... they aren't too high.. or painful to walk in.

I wear heels 24/7 be it boots over jeans... or skinny heels.. I dunno. Heels no matter how high always make me feel like the sexiest shit on earth

Target has the cutest shoes, they arent expensive, usually $22 or so a pair. Love their wedge pumps and kitten heels, Mossimo is my favorite. They always keep up with styles comparable to department stores and big designers and are comfy too. Also i still have pars I have been wearing for 3+ years, so they dont fall apart!

No chunky heels, please! Go for some sexy stilettos!! I like Steve Madden, Nordstrom, Aldo, and zappos.com for shoes.

I always scour the steve madden clearance section for screaming deals: Although the really low prices (like the $180 boots that are marked down to $19.99) have very limited sizing...like size 10 only. Still, it's good to to check periodically. Hint: I like to note which particular items I want and then I CALL their 800 number to place my order. That way they can tell me immediately if something is in stock or not. Also, clearance items cannot be returned for a refund. Oh yeah, one more thing, I'd recommend going up a half size in the baby doll toe...normal size in the pointier toe...that's been my own personal experience anyhow.

eta: check out the NVADE it's a great classic black boot...still available in a range of sizes...and marked down to a very reasonable price. Good luck!

    Agreed. No chunky heels.

And I LOVE zappos.com. Everything about them is great; the variety, range of prices, and the fast shipping.

You know, I ordered a pair of shoes one day when I came home from work and when I got home the next day, the shoes were waiting for me in front of my door! Amazing.

Wow, I'm glad to see everyone is in agreement on the chunky heels. For some reason I thought jeans = chunky heels and skirts = stilletos. I'm willing to give it a try. I haven't bought stilletos in years because I'm the kind of person that has no problem walking in 8 in platforms or dancing en pointe but give me a pair of regular skinny heels and I'm flat on my bum.

I usually don't wear pointy toed shoes. I have Flintstones feet....my toes don't taper on the sides and go almost straight across lol.

^^ I really like that NVADE shoe. It looks like it would be perfect for just jeans and a sweater

    Caution...rant ahead:

I think I'm gonna hit Nordstoms Rack and maybe the real one today. I resold about 2/3 of my closet that I don't wear yesterday to a vintage store. I didn't get much bigger after high school started years ago so I still had clothes that fit rotting away from before then. I always felt bad about just throwing out so much and wasting it but I guess reselling some and donating the rest isn't waste. I'm only 20 but I've been getting mistaken a lot for like 13-14. I would be fine with people assuming I was 16 since in the long run looking young will be good but its getting annoying. For example...last week after getting my teeth cleaned a different hygenist in the office yelled "goodbye little girl!". Wouldn't goodbye have been enough? Yesterday I bought a new concealer from the Laura Mercier counter. I'm there frequently (that stuffs the best imo) and spend far to much money but this time it was a different weekend sales girl. She told me I should come back and get a new concealer brush "when you save up enough for it". I've had numerous other people ask me how old I am, having parents think I'm a student lying that I'm a teacher in my art classes, restaurants asking me if I want a kids menu (once while I was at dinner w/ my bf), not being able to get help in any type of sales environment and getting harassed by a local high school security guard because I was in the Taco Bell a few blocks away from the school and he assumed I was a student ditching. I've even been approached by one of those daytime talk shows for their "Ugly Betty" makeover edition. When I'm done working at the bikini bar I guess I just feel like wearing t shirts, docs and jeans. I'm moving to heLLA in a few months and am trying to get my crap together before then so I can come off a little more polished and professional. I figure jeans and sexy heels are a good start to this.

    Wedges with jeans.....yes or no?

Wow, I didn't notice the couture section before....I'm in trouble now! For some reason I thought zappos was a sketchy site since its always comes up in the google sponsored ads at the top of the page. I'm always a little wary of them. Everyone here seems to have great luck. Any issues with returning shoes if they don't fit though?

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/17523958/c/2588.html I think I like those.

I had a pair of boots from Target that were perfect for jeans. I bought them for promo work about a year ago. I liked them because they were mid-calf, not too pointy and had a thin but not quite stilleto stacked heel (like the diameter of a quarter). They were of course plastic and fell apart quickly. I can't find an online picture or anything similar.

Im not a big fan of wedges... But I think they look way better with shorts

Depends on what kinda jeans you wear. I wear skinny jeans so wedges I think would look fucking awful

however bell bottoms it wouldn't look bad with considering it's all the same sorta era

Zappos has free return shipping, so no problems there. I think you can wear wedge sandals with jeans, just not skinny ones, like Tart said. Flares or bootlegs are fine. Also, it's almost summer time. Why buy boots? I wouldn't buy a pair right now unless they were on sale.

Out of those links, I like the MJ ones better, but neither of them really make me run for the Visa. What about some platform stilettos with a rounded toe or even open toe? I'll go find a pair and post the link...

Thanks for this link! I love Steve Madden because they're stylish yet extremely affordable. I usually buy mine from Montreal because they're much cheaper there.

Not trying to offend anyone who wear these, but I absolutely hate these boots

They remind me of when I was in high school.

This is off-topic, as I have nothing to say about shoes (I have a famous dislike of shoes and am barefoot as often as I can get away with it. Basically when I go into retail or food establishments, I wear shoes, but the rest of the time, I have them strapped to my backpack (with my Nalgene) because I'm a hippie like that, and I only put them on when I get yelled at).

But what i really want to say is... I can relate to being mistaken for young. I didn't like it when I was 19 and 20 (especially because, like you, I was living on my own, working full-time, making decent money, but it seemed as though everywhere I went people wanted to know where my parents were, or wasn't I too young to be smoking, or did I have ID to see this PG-13 movie?). But I like it now: I knew I couldn't keep fighting it, so I've come to embrace it, and it's kind of fun. I am the same size I was in middle school (maybe a little fatter, but 5'2", A-cup, yeah, them's some jr. high dimensions) and I choose to dress like a teenager, and you know what? I have come to relish the moment when people start giving me shit about how I'm so young and I mustn't have a clue about anything, because am I even out of high school yet? And I laugh and say, I'm older than I look, and sometimes if I feel like being a jerk I'll change the subject to how I was reading Tolstoy the other day and his views on mortality etc. 'CAUSE BITCH I'M 24. Hahahaha I like to keep people on their toes about me all the time.

I have these wedges and they look great with jeans:

If you really want boots, I'd go with these:

These pumps would also look fabulous:

    Also love all of these:

^^just got those leopard ones and have received soooo many compliments on them. Yes, I wore them with jeans.

Yes I am shoe obsessed, you ladies should see my closet! Nordstrom Rack is great place to find these brands at a discount. If you're ever in AZ, Last Chance has some amazing deals (like JLO shoes for $20!), but you have to dig cuz it's a mess. On a side note, has anyone seen the new Paris Hilton line of handbags? Not that she needs any of my money, but they are really cute!

I love the "Glamour Girl" one with all the chains.

Co-sign! I have found some gorgeous name brand shoes, after some serious & time-consuming diggin'(even though they have racks, lol) at last chance!

As long as we're talking about shoe places, I'd like to mention DSW. I swear that I hear choruses of Halleluia being played when I walk in there.

Great place to find brand names at off prices. Their clearance racks are awesome and, if you join the club, you get coupons for money off, special sales for club members etc.

    Love it!!!

I think I have to order those first wedges in black suede now I looove the Steven "Laci" shoe as well. It seems very summer/ spring appropriate. Thank you for digging those up!

I'm not quite sure why I want to buy boots for summer when I'm living in So. Cal either. I think I have a boots fetish lol. I'll be the first one to admit that I am terrible at coordinating outfits. I can handle matching jeans, plain heels and a jacket (as long as they are the same color) but fashion just is not my area of expertise. I'm sort of a hippy when it comes to clothes. Thank god my job provides our outfits.

Hopefully I will be out in Arizona sometime soon once I get the hang of dancing. I'll probably wait until summer is over though.

I have some similar leopard pumps from Nine West. I got them at TJMaxx for like $30. They are super sick! I've only worn them 2x but I got a ton of compliments each time!
