I can't find anything about 32 dead on either CNN or MSNBC websites

On television, FOX is reporting 32, MSNBC and CNN are reporting 31. It may take awhile for them to update their websites.
Former SCJ now in rehab.

I feel really bad for the innocents injured and murdered. And also thier families. This is sucha tragedy.![]()
This world is fucked.
I agree. And its almost 4-20 ( columbine )

i know a lot of kids at that school. i hope everyone's okay.

im listening to the radio and they've been talking about it all morning, and a girl just called in saying her cousin is on the swat team in that area and they think that it may not be over because they suspect more than one shooter. don't know if it's true, but if its possible that's even worse...

wow. just wow. what awful news to wake up to. i am still trying to believe there's still some good in the world...
and in reply to sophie marie..
I like vietnamese food.![]()
(i just couldnt help myself guys heh)
Love it!
This is so sad and sick. It reminds me of the 1989 shooting at the engineering school at the University of Montreal when Marc Lepine walked into a classroom, told the men to leave, and shot the women. When he was done, he had killed 14 women, injured 10 more, as well as 4 men. That story just rocked Canada at the time. I feel so bad for the victim's families here---the last thing you would expect is that your children are going to get mown down by gunfire while they are pursuing a higher education.

Jesus Christ...

Well, I see Fox News couldn't get through the day without politicizing this tragedy. They have that nutwhack attorney Jack Thompson on, who's already blaming this shooting on violent "murder simulator" video games. Apparently to get this kind of body count, you need lots of practice.
Sounds like this is going to be like post-Columbine hysteria all over again.![]()

It's so sad. I have a son and daughter in college and I can't even contemplate the sense of loss and tragedy for their families and the loss to all of us of their talents
No graduations, no weddings, no grandchildren, no life.
Wow, just wow. So this is what happens when one goes to an IV League school. I guess its all the needles and heroin. Ok, had to call that one out. I'm not going to watch the news about this, too sad.

sophie, $50,000 a year my ass. unless you're reading something there that i'm not seeing.
sophie: Google. Use it. Educate yourself. PLEASE!
This story makes me so sick... 32 dead... this guy had to be seriously disturbed... my heart goes out to the students of the school and their friends and family..
Latest update on MSNBC:
32 confirmed dead, including the gunmen, although the headline now says 33. The gunman shot over 50 people in a residence hall and classroom building before killing himself. His face was "disfigured" by the self-inflicted wound.
Link: updates are highlighted.
Really, really bad.
Edit: Virginia Tech is not an Ivy League school. Ivy League schools are all in New England except for one in Pennsylvania. New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland are between Virginia Tech and the nearest Ivy League school to it.

This is just terrible. 40 years since Whitman and this is far, far worse. My heart aches for all of those students who won't feel safe for a long time.

I hate to say it because I feel like a lot of big universities are guilty of this and everyone just looks the other way but SECURITY SUCKS usually.
My school is slightly bigger in the number of students that attend than VT and I could easily see something like this happening.
I guess no one wants to consider what could happen plus so many college students are really just kind of ignorant when it comes to safety (and by this I mean they'll let anyone in a gate that you're supposed to have a key card for or just give another person that benefit of the doubt for courtesy's sake, etc.)
This type of incident is never ever justifiable (obviously) but I hope other schools, in addition to VT, take notice and do something about security. Soon.

Don't forget Stanford ^^^
But anyway, this is terrible, I'm in shock.

I've been watching CNN & they reported earlier that the gunman was looking for his girlfriend (?) But police are saying they don't have a motive yet.
I don't know anyone who lives in Virginia but this really makes me wanna cry. They said he lined people up in a classroom & shot them execution style. A girl in the classroom where it took place laid down on the floor & pretended she was already dead - she lived.
So fucked up.
