    Default Stage seat etiquette

About once a year, a long time buddy and I go to Vegas and hit the local strip clubs for a night or two. Since this is an occasional thing, and pretty much the only time I go to strip clubs, I've never been fully informed of what's "normal" in the clubs, so I thought I'd ask here in order to sate my long time curiousity about my behavior and how it's perceived.

Typically, he's the big spender, and I'm the cheapskate (in comparison, anyway). He likes to pick a girl and go VIP with her for several hours, usually to the tune of well over a thousand dollars, while I'm a bit more controlled in my spending. So, while he's in the back throwing caution to the wind, I usually hit the stage and tip about $2 per song/dance to whoever is active on the stage (occasionally more if she's particularly good). I'll usually get a lap dance for the evening as well, if the right girl propositions me at the right time.

My question is this: Am I being overly cheap in only tipping around $2 per song to the stage dancer? Should I not be taking up a seat at the stage at that average rate, and if that is the case, what is considered a 'normal' amount for a stage sitter to tip?

General rule of thumb is to tip a min of $1 per song to the dancer while sitting stage side at the tip rail. If a dancer is on for a 3-song set, than you should have $1 dollar for each song ready to tip. In some cases during busy times when the rail is full, she might not make it back to you to collect each dollar per song, but you should be prepared to spend it if she does make it back. Of course tipping more will always be welcomed and may get you a little more attention as you sit there.

    ^what he said^

though be warned: i have been to clubs as a custy where the girls turn their noses up at any stage tip less than $5 or $10. but for the most part, a buck a song should do ya fine.

All I wanna know is...When you and your friend come into town...what club you gonna go to? I would LOVE to meet your friend.

But as for your question...yeah, it seems $1-2 per song is average. If she comes over to you gives you a little show, tip her more. Bottm line is...the mroe you tip on stage, the better she will dance.

I'm happy with the guy as long as he is tipping at least a dollar per song. I hate the guys that sit there and watch me and I think they are genuinely interested in me, and then I go to get a tip and they refuse. Don't sit at the tip rail if you're not going to tip EVERY girl. You'll most likely get told off.

    Kaiarose summed it up well.

The key is to tip every girl something, every song. As long as that something is paper money (not play money ), you're kosher in 98% of clubs. The more you like a particular girl, the more you give.

If you don't want to tip a particular dancer for some reason, leave the stage rail/seat and come back later. Do not just sit there not tipping.

$2/song is not cheap. It's not a fabulous tip, but most of us just expect SOME tip if you're going to sit at stage. Even if you don't particularly like the girl or her dance, if you're going to sit at her stage, you should give her a tip. $2/song is perfectly fine.

In fact I'd go even further to say that if you tip the girls on stage during your visit, whether or not you buy dances, you're not a cheapskate. You won't be our favorite customer but I have never known a stripper who didn't feel stage tips were perfectly acceptable. We realize not everyone is able to spend tons of cash and as long as you're not sitting around all night spending NO money on the girls then you're ok by us. If every customer just tipped each girl $2/song on stage, we'd ALL be alot happier

I think every girl willing to get up on stage and take off some or all of her clothes certainly deserves a couple of dollars. I will tip more to the girls with whom I hope to have LDs.

If you're at the stage, and sxybrat is dancing, suggest to onlookers that she's your sister and you've banged her relentlessly since being her brother turns you and the girl you're at the stage with on.

This will undoubtedly out another stage-onlooker into admitting that not only is his sister a stripper, but he envies you because he tried.

    k. That's perfectly fine. I like at least 2$ a song, it shows the guy appreciates me and my efforts,, and is doing a little more then expected (1$ a song).

You are doing the right thing, also, by sitting at the tip rail instead of the tables if you are not going to get dances. That way we don't harass you in the hoped of you yourself spending thousands on us It sounds to me like your ettiquete is impeccable.

Just cusious, what would be a good name for cheap customers who stay at the tip rail in order to avoid having to say "no" to having dances. I'll start, how about "Cheeseheads".

It's kind of a State joke, you have to visit Wisconsin to really get the meaning. Anyway, there is where the true "cheap cheesehead" strip club free loader dwells.

"Cheesehead" is slang for a person from Wisconsin. I am from Wisconsin, and I am far from cheap in a strip club.

^^ I didn't mean to insult all the people in Wisconsin. I don't doubt that crisgolfer is a good spender. I'm just talking about the cheap ass freeloaders. To be fair we have our share of stingy FINs down here too. For those readers who are not from the mid-west, FIN stands for (F)ucking (I)lli (N)oings.

I usually tip $2.00 per song. Most guys I see are usually throw a buck, although some will tip more. Just don't be one of those guys that sits 1 row back from the stage and doesn't tip anything.
