I used to only do my makeup at home. Give me time to relax, jam to the music.
Lately I've been taking my makeup into work with me. It's starting to bother me, cause I pull out my lil brushes from Ebay and I got girls eyeing me like vulchers asking me, "oh is that MAC"..I dont like people snooping..
I"m going to go back to just donig my makeup at home..
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"
I always do everything but lipstick before I get there. I can't get ready at the club, there's no way I'm dragging all of my expensive makeup in there. I'd be too afraid I'd lose something. Ditto on my hair. That is a freakin' process, lol. My bathroom is set up for me to get ready, so all I have to do when I get to work is get dressed and put lipstick on and get on the floor.
I've never understood why a lot of girls will get there looking like they just stepped out of the shower. They get there at whatever time their shift starts, but then waste at least an hour getting ready. I guess they aren't in a big hurry to get to work, but I feel like if I'm there I'm going to make money from the get go and not waste too much time in the dressing room.
Check out my new eBay auctions.......
I always did my hair and makeup at home. It always irritated me when there were say 6 of us girls there, but I'm the only one on the floor(and being put on stage every 5 minutes) because the rest were putzing around in the back for an hour or longer doing their hair and makeup.
Unless you are coming in early..that isnt right. If you shift starts at, say 6...you should be stage ready at 6. It just isnt fair to the other girls who may be working harder while they wait for you.
Not to mention that I hated to haul my stuff in, fight for a space at the counter, etc..... So much easier to do it in the comfort of my own home.
I do some at home and some at work.
I never go to work completely fresh faced just in case I run into one of my customers. Gotta have something on my face. I make sure I get there early so I have enough time to finish getting ready.
i don't really putz when i get there.. mine takes 10-15 then im ready to go.. i like to chill for a minute anyways before the craziness begins...

I try to be ready for work when i get there, if my girls give me a minute to myself. Now if i plan on wearing eyelashes, the I def. do it at home...takes me an hour to get them ready. Nah...Id rather b makin money than sitting in the back.
I get completely ready at home. With all the girls there, it takes too long at work. And I hate everyone poking thru my makeup bag asking if they can use this or that.
I go completly ready, and when I get there, I touch up a little. It takes me forever to get ready, and I'd rather not waste my time at work getting ready. I can be at work and hit the floor within 10 minutes.

I have it done before I arrive and then I touch up once I get there. I try to roll in correctly... espically in NYC.
I Love Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do my makeup and straighten my hair at the club. My logic is that in Baltimore you never know what traffic is going to be like on any given night--I'd rather give myself plenty of time to get to work just in case. That way, if traffic isn't bad I've got plenty of time to get ready once I've already gotten to the club. And if traffic IS bad, I can just do a quickie makeup job...as opposed to doing makeup at home and thinking I can get to the club in the usual 30 minutes, only to find out that there's a huge traffic jam and I'm going to be late. For me it's more time-efficient to do it at work.

I do it at work but I want to start doing it at home first. I suck at makeup, but I anticipate being good at it soon. Any day now. I'd rather hit the floor after changing and stretching, rather than being back there for an hour.

If I don't have a class that night before work, I will do my hair & make-up at work. It never really takes me long to do it anyway.

i do everything at home. mostly because it takes me twice as long if i do it at work. at home i have my routine down pat: room to lay everything out, ideal lighting, i can sit on the counter the perfect distance from the mirror, etc. i can be done with hair & makeup in 20 minutes. at work i have to deal with finding a decent spot at a decent mirror with decent lighting, girls bumping into me, people wanting to chatter when i need to concentrate, all that crap. i'd much rather show up, get dressed and go.
i do it at home when im working in the clubs. i dont like to worry about my stuff getting stolen or anything when im working(even if it is makeup, the clubs i have worked at the girls would kick in lockers to steal anything they could get their hands on..) i try not to bring anything with me to work.

I almost always do my makeup before work, unless I'm running late. I like to go into work already done up. I hate wasting time in the dressing room and I spend as little time back there as possible. Plus I hate other dancers staring at me while I do my makeup and asking to borrow things.
Same here blondhottie, I always get ready at home, but if I'm running late I'll do my makeup at work, but I'm always dressed and ready to go.
I hate doing my makeup at work because it can be cramped at times, I feel rushed, and the girls always wanna chat why I'm trying not to stab myself with an eyepencil.
This method works best for me, but it's so funny how when I get to work, I'm ready in 5 minutes while the other girls are still trying to find a clean thong in their bag, are still in street clothes with their hair undone and a bareface.
I love my prep, I'll never change it for the world.

Hm, I get my makeup done mostly by the makeup artist at work. He only costs $10 and every time he's done it I have banked!
I do my skin at home though because I prefer my foundation/bronzer/concealer etc but he does my eyes LatinaRose style!

I'd rather do it at home, but usually end up doing it at the club. It takes so long for the customers to come in- I'd be sitting out on the floor for 2 hours alone. So I wait until I get to work so it wastes some time.

I get everything done at the club.
I usually have heaps of time to kill before my first table of any shift so I'd rather do it there at a relaxed pace than to do it at home and speed through traffic to get to work on time. Besides, I really hate being seen OTC in my stage make-up. It's really OTT compared to my usual daggy self.
home i get to work change and hit the floor.![]()

I do everything and then bring eyeliner and lipstick for touchups. They're small and I can bring them with me in my money purse. I really try to bring as little as possible with me to work for obvious reasons.

I almost always did my makeup at home. If I was running late, I at least did my skin and then did the eyes and lips at work. Hair was done always before because I wore clip-ins.
