I just started reading this book and it's pretty interesting... and horrifying. Anyone else read it?

Yes. Put me off Fast Food forever.
Yes, it was a good book! I don't eat fast food every much anymore after that book.
Well..I cheated and watched the movie. I will not eat red meat ever again, I think that was real footage on that movie. And I'm trying to cut out chicken. But that special ingredient in the food..yucky!
^^^ The movie was fictionalized and had very little to do with the book, from what I understand. I read the book and it was brilliant. But y'all should know it isn't just fast food being processed that way; look at all the diseases turning up in our processed veggies now!
I looooooove Fast Food Nation. But then again, I love anything that exposes the ickiness of fast food to the public.
It is an excellent book! I read it a couple of years ago, and now my fast food consumption is limited to drinks and french fries (I'm addicted to McD's fries, what can I say).
It sheds a lot of light on the reason why illegal immigration is an on going problem as well as how fast food has driven us to our current fascist governing system. (Oooooh, that is poo-ish, sorry if I offend).
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
My husband just read it and of course he kept reading segments to me as he went along.
It sounds like an incredible book.
One happy thing in it for me is I get my beef from Lassiter farms (www.lasatergrasslandsbeef.com ) and that is a place the book recommends.
Hugs and Hissessss,
Maria

I read it in 2002 and was similarly horrified.

I read it a while back. I didn't really eat fast food before, so it hasn't changed my habits... I still do stop by Del Taco or In n out once in a while, but I don't consider them as fast-foody as places like McDonald's or Carl's.
