    Default IE (Not Responding) aahhhhh!!

I guess its my PC because I have the fastest internet I can get from Bellsouth. Why do I always have to go through this (Not Responding) crap every five minutes. Whats going on and what do I do to fix it? I tried deleting unused programs, and dont try to open a bunch of pages at once... It got real bad when I downloaded Playhouse Disney for Ahrie,so i got rid of that. Still doing it. If I dont respond to this, it just means my PC is smashed and thrown out the window. Yeah--its that bad.

could also likely be spyware that was bundled in with those programs. sometimes they install auto-spies/cookies.

try removing it with ad-aware (free) or pc tools' spyware doctor (trial basis but very effective).

take a look under "task manager" to see how many "processes" you're running versus normally. if that's too tech (it's almost too tech for me) then i'd just try the spyware stuff.

i like firefox too but lately (last couple of versions) have been a bit unstable and i also don't like the incompatibility with some websites (screwed up graphics and text). but that's more microsoft's fault than mozilla imho.

I'm using Vista and IE7 on a new dual-core notebook pc w/2gb ram. Had the same problem over the weekend. IE would lock up on all java pop-ups and when opening links in new tabs and new windows.

It seems to be caused by a windows update. I did a system restore to April 13 and the problem self-corrected. Spent an hour or so online with Dell support and I had to go two updates back.

Was also getting "explorer.exe class not found" error messages when opening my computer and network.

Yeah, I'm on the "bleeding edge" of Vista users......c'mon SP1.
